savagegrace26
With Zumbi on Savage's side, he doesn't need anyone else. A greater henchman I can't think of. So....watch out everyone. :guitar: Wait. So who would be the henchman? Zumbi has that distinguished royalty thing going for him.

Snyder80
Different Strings-yes. Lyrically mostly. The guitar solo had massive potential and kind of fizzles out. The other two-not so much.

bathory
This poll is in response to this: http://www.therushfo...20#entry3361927 me: Red Tide and Available Light are both excellent.CygnusX-1Bk2: Um, no.me: Um, yes.CygnusX-1Bk2: If they are SO good they why were they never played live? Because even Rush know they aren't good songs. Same reason they don't play anything but Force Ten, Time Stand Still or Mission from HYF. They are funny that way. And this regarding Different Strings:http://www.therushfo...20#entry3361939 I guess I'm looking for external validation for my subjective opinions... According to CygnusX-1Bk2 (man that's a pain to type) Rush apparently knows these songs are no good...that's why they don't play them... And I guess everything from HYF (ecxept for F10, TSS, and Mission) are crap too...because Rush don't play 'em. I knew you had some pissy motivation for posting this thread!
Powderfinger
I gotta be honest. I don't like any of those songs. I truly love Permanent Waves, but "Different Strings" has always been a skipper for me. And with the exception of "The Pass," I don't care for Presto at all. Sorry to offend. The Analog Cub
Different Strings-yes. Lyrically mostly. The guitar solo had massive potential and kind of fizzles out. The other two-not so much. I can't agree more. I love the song as it is but they could've done so much with the end of that song. Maybe if they actually play it live (which obviously means there has to be an ending) Alex will deliver. That or they could do it as an acoustic version after Neil's solo. Either would make me very happy.
savagegrace26
Different Strings was most likely faded out so it would fit on the album side. There were some disadvantages with the lp format. The advantages being less room for filler. Edited December 4, 2014 by savagegrace26
Segue Myles
Presto is an AMAZING album. Its worst song Superconductor is now in my good books. Red Tide is really goid, but Available Light is godly! As for Different Strings, great stuff, great album. But it is no Presto. But for me Presto is a magnificent 9.5/10!
