How do you feel about it? Do you get into it? Does it piss you off?

When do you like listening to it? One radio station in Milwaukee started playing it the day after Halloween..... WAY too early for me!

I like it closer to Christmas. This time of year it just aggravates me because stores use it as a subliminal message to get you to buy stuff. I refuse to be manipulated.

I'm sure it's corny, but some of my favorites come from:

Not corny for this old timer! :codger: That's good stuff. :D

I like cool Xmas songs, not that sappy shit especially if it's from those boy groups and teen pop singers. I do like All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah, though. That's surprisingly decent. Ones that are awesome:

Mistress For Xmas - AC/DC :whipgirl:

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - the boss

I Don't Want To Fight - Ramones

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa - Mellencamp

Xmas in Hollis - Run DMC

all the Sandler Hannukah songs

Xmas at Ground Zero - Weird Al

2000 Miles - Pretenders

Christmastime - Smashing Pumpkins

Christmas All Over Again - Tom Petty

Pretty Paper - Roy Orbison

Wonderful Xmastime - Sir Macca

Happy Xmas - Lennon

Jingle Bell Rock - Hall and Oates

Even though it's not Xmas related, Next Year by Foo Fighters is good because it sounds like that kind of music.

I gave you a like here because that takes me back to one of two albums of Christmas music that we listened to every year when I was growing up. One was Andy Williams, and the other was Robert Goulet.

I don't have too much attachment to Christmas music these days.

My favorite is Johhny Mathis,

My mother would play his Christmas tunes all the time back in the 60's and 70's. :codger:

A few days before.

Sonic Tap, DirecTV's channel 801, which is normally 1940's Big Band music has already made it's switch to Holidays. which is Christmas music from various genres.

Many years ago a made a mix tape called " The Alternative Christmas Carols Guide:

Deck The Halls (Mannheim Steamroller) Do You Hear What I Hear (Whitney Houston) The Litlle Drummer Boy (Harry Simeone Chorale) I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas (Yogi Joregsson) Joy to the World (Joemy Wilson-hammered dulcimer) Joseph & Mary's Boy (Alabama) Have Yourselves A Very Merry Christmas (The Pretenders) Feliz Navidad (Jose Feliciano) Gabriel's Message (Sting) Blue Christmas (Elvis Presley) Christmas in Hollis (Run-DMC) Rockin' Around the Chrisrmas Tree (Brenda Lee) What Child is This (Johnny Mathis) & I'll Be Home For Christmas (Bing Crosby)

I ended up making 5 copies for friends who wanted the mix-go figure.

Current faves:

Most of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD's

Ditto for Windham Hill's Winter Solstice CD's

Merry Axemass 1 & 2-Love Eric Johnson's The First Noel

December-The Moody Blues

Trying to pull CD's together for a new compilation, hope the library can come through with source material to add to mine. The CD will have my all time fave Xmas song-The Kinks' Father Christmas.
