I got too drunk on signals tour and spent some chunk of evening driving the porcelain bus so I don't remember much

Signals Tour in Birmingham May 1983.

What can I remember of the tunes on the night? Nothing that would be useful. it's been a while! I don't remember The Weapon or how it sounded.

Your parents must have been younger than you are now!

That is true in my case. Parents were still in elementary school during AFTK I believe.
Well I was only a senior in high school. That's pretty close isn't it? Never mind. No its not damn it!! :rage: :)

Oops forgot.... :codger:

I received Signals from Rush with special guests Nazareth on May 11th 1983. The concert was held in a small town called Eppelheim, outside of Heidelberg, Germany.
What I can remember is that I was blown away by the sound, as soon as Alex played the first notes of The Spirit Of Radio. Best Rush live sound to this day for me. I also remember how great they played that night and Xanadu with the two double necks was surely a highlight of the show. Can't remember what The Weapon was like, maybe because we had no 3-D glasses and we saw it only in one-half-D. ;)

Did they really pass those glasses out at every concert?

I envy you, Greyfriar.   It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

I still think you have the most Rush friendly meet and greet picture I've ever seen.  Like you were an old friend they knew well and were glad to see.  Maybe there is something you're not telling us?  ;)

I was at all of the early tours.  I kept the ticket stubs and next day concert reviews from most shows I attended.  I should dig them out and post them here.

My mom was born in '34.  It makes me laugh to think of her at a Rush show.  She's more a Patsy Cline kind of gal.

That would be cool. I still have the tour book from the Permanent Waves tour but I think that's the only thing I kept from back in the day. Not sure why that is all I kept but I have it in the attic somewhere....

Syrinx, if you get the chance to dig them out, I'd love to read the reviews.

Yeah, my dad . . . quite a bit older than my mom.  He'd be 99 if he was alive today.  I guess I'm lucky he still had some coal in the ol' furnace . . . can't imagine him at a Rush show, either.  He probably thought Bobby Vinton was too loud.
