That reminds me I think I will listen to Rocka Rolla (not metal Priest) tonight.... I would agree that your preferred era of AC/DC is not, but I would say the Johnson era is.

Rick N. Backer
solo ozzy wouldn't make my top 100 but the influence is undeniable Because you don't think it's metal, or because you don't think it's good?
Tombstone Mountain
solo ozzy wouldn't make my top 100 but the influence is undeniableMan I must break ranks and call you out. That's nuts. With Randy Rhoads, Ozzy helped rewrite the playbook of metal.
bathory
I think if you take the good songs on blizzard and diary you have a great album. you take all his good songs after that and put em on a disc and you have a nice EP.
bathory
it's definitely metal. about as light as metal can get before being called hard rock, but it's metal. I don't hold that against it. I just think ozzy has really good hits and not much else. tribute's all I ever need if I have to listen to solo ozzy

Gamma Ray - Somewhere out in Space456. Virgin Steele - The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: Part One459. Labyrinth - Return to Heaven Denied 464. Kamelot - Epica478. Helstar - A Distant Thunder486. Running Wild - Pile of Skulls492. Wintersun - Wintersun Surprised Stratovarius's "Visions" didn't make the cut. Guess Sad Wings Of Destiny isn't considered metal after all..... very weird that tool and opeth beat it but those bands are more popular than that priest record. even though it is the best priest and beats most of the list, and definitely beats all those power metal albumsAs I am sure you are aware I haven't heard of or heard most of the stuff you have posted about and some of the list but I thought at least Sad Wings was very highly regarded by most metalers... it's pretty popular, the frontman of opeth said sad wings is his all-time favorite albumAnd the men responsible are still out there tonight... http://i.imgur.com/PU2a2tj.jpg

Running Wild - Pile of Skulls492. Wintersun - Wintersun Surprised Stratovarius's "Visions" didn't make the cut. Sabbath's first three albums in the top 10. And Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules should be in there. Then throw in Blizzard, Diary and Holy Diver. Number of the Beast and Back in Black can round it out. dude...there's good metal after 1983. :P The thrash bands, and in particular Slayer, took metal in a direction that never did it for me. At times I enjoy some early Metallica, but that's about it.

Big 70's AC/DC fan here but glad they are 21st. They aren't even metal anyway. Very early priest wasn't either but they caught on quickly. That reminds me I think I will listen to Rocka Rolla (not metal Priest) tonight.... Rocka Rolla is great but "SAD WINGS OF DESTINY" RULES!! It is their first METAL album!!! I agree with Rushman. Priest should be 2. That list is a total joke. No ACCEPT? WTF????????? ACCEPT is the best metal band from Germany. JMO The RCA Scorpions catalog is METAL too. No respect. Mr. Not
mr. isnot, you don't like iced earth, helloween, gamma ray, running wild, jag panzer or riot but power metal's the only genre of metal you'll tolerate? EDIT: my bad, I forgot dream theater. My taste in metal is really limited. I do enjoy some Helloween (Halloween), Gamma Ray (lust for life), but I can't say I've listened to their albums much. I haven't heard much of Jag Panzer or Riot. For these four bands, I cannot say I dislike the bands whatsoever, I just haven't listened to them much. At worst I'm just not interested. I do not like Iced Earth, chalk that up to the vocals. The s I added to the power metal album listings really indicate that they're albums I enjoy listening through more than anything else. I definitely do not consider myself a metal head, or a fan of metal. Just a rock guy.Angra, Blind Guardian, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Rhapsody, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius... That's about the extent of my plebeian metal taste (though I'm sure I'll kick myself later for overlooking 2 or 3 bands) Well done. Couldn't argue this point better! ...Nightwish sucks :madra: Edited November 18, 2014 by Mr. Not
