physics23
Firearms are an exciting world. Yes, they're associated with killing and maiming, but that only accounts for a small portion of their applications in the world. If your initial reaction to the title of this topic is to recoil in disgust, you probably represent the majority of people in the world; guns have been responsible for incalculable loss of life. But that is not the point of this thread. The point is to appreciate their power, their elegance, their ingenuity, their diversity. So... What have you handled? Yep! QUOTE (Moonraker @ Aug 2 2005, 02:30 PM) While I am not going to go into a whole shpeel for gun control, I will leave it at I am in favor of stricter gun control and have never opperated a firearm. I've never touched a real gun and if I have anything to say about it, never will. No offense anyone, but why a thread glorifying guns? I would expect to see a thread like this in the political forum, but not here - it doesn't seem appropriate, but maybe it's just me... I've never touched a real gun and if I have anything to say about it, never will. No offense anyone, but why a thread glorifying guns? Maybe some of us enjoy shooting. I know I do. Besides, I don't think that this thread 'glorifies' guns per se, but is instead a thread for gun enthusiasts. Bottom line: if it bugs you, don't read it. Now that that is out of the way, here's my list of what I have fired. Colt .45 M1911A1. M-16 on both single fire and full auto. Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 Gauge. 1914 Springfield. 1904 Enfield. M-1 Garrand. .50 Cal. M-60. M-14. Winchester 30-30. Ruger mini-14. Ruger Bearcat. Colt .44 revolver. Colt .44 derringer. Desert Eagle .44. Chinese SKS. Hi-Standard .22 long rifle match pistol. Edited to add: I can't believe that I forgot the Mark 75 76mm deck gun BA-BOOM! Edited August 3, 2005 by Jack Aubrey
barney_rebel
Never had an interest in real life, but for video games I do appreciate them a lot in games like Max Payne, Soldier of Fortune etc. Most I've ever fired was a BB Gun and a pelet rifle.
