If you have access to guitar center sessions (I see it on directv) they are showing the usual interview/live songs this month with billy, Steve, and band. Of course, it's excellent.

Thanks for the tip! I will check it out!

"Kings And Queens Of The Underground" could be my ALBUM OF THE YEAR!

I've liked Billy Idol, and when Steve Stevens, was his guitarist in the band in the 80s, they were really good. I've liked the c.ds, and albums "Rebel Yell", and "Whiplash Smile" a lot. I think the song "Blue Highway" is a great song. From "Rebel Yell", it is my favorite song. Even "the Dead Next Door", isn't a bad song as it's a good ballad, too. From "Whiplash Smile", "Don't Need A Gun", is my favorite song. The song "One Night, One Chance", is another good ballad, which can be similar to "the Dead Next Door". I put together his "Greatest Hits" onto c.d. to have, and listen to. Earl, If you do have a chance to see, and read this, I hope you will, and do enjoy seeing "Billy Idol", and "Steve Stevens" perform together in concert in person, again. Edited by Derek19

Billy Idol is good live.

"Kings and Queens of the Underground" is among his best, in my opinion.

(Could use a bit more of Steve's magic on it is my only criticism).

They are releasing the first Generation X album next month as a deluxe edition.

I'm psyched for that to come out.

Also, if you get a chance to read Billy's autobiography you'll be impressed what a great storyteller he is.

A very good read and perfect companion to "King's and Queens of the Underground", which came out at about the same time.

Have fun!

Then she went to class, and hell I have no class and walked across the street to the Golden State Theater for an all acoustic show.

Fuckk Balls! it was just Billy and Steven.

I was bummed no "Blue Highway" but the show was intimate and fuckking incredible.

So, after The Cat's recent Billy Idol marathon, I decided to check out what he was like beyond the hits. I've always known the hits and liked them but for whatever reason I never pursued any futher than that. Over the last week I have been listening to his full albums and he does have some pretty good stuff. I really like his first two albums. Especially Rebel Yell. I need a few more listens to Whiplash Smile and Charmed Life. Some of it I liked but other songs on those two I found kind of boring. Kings and Queens Of The Underground I may like best of all though. What a great late career album for someone who has been around as long as him and pretty much done it all.

It's always fun to take a chance on listening to something and unexpectedly become a big fan of it.

Oh yeah, how the hell was Blue Highway not a huge hit for him?

Exactly! Great song both lyrically & musically. Billy's vocals are amazing and Steve Steven's guitar playing is off the charts!

Yeah, Stevens does some really good stuff. I don't know who the bass player is but he plays some very good grooves as well.

WOW! I just noticed I gave this album an A+++++

I may be a crazy poster but at least I'm fuckking consistent!!!

I've only got this one as C, the songs are ok, some are good but there's just not enough Steve Stevens unleashed on it.

Yeah, Stevens does some really good stuff. I don't know who the bass player is but he plays some very good grooves as well.

The guy credited for most of the bass playing on the album is a guy called Steve Webster. It's not clear though which songs he plays on. Two other bass players play on four of the songs and Steve Stevens is credited as playing bass as well. So it's either Webster or Stevens playing bass on Blue Highway.
