The only flaw is that it's only six songs.

Musically, it's perfect.

To me, Jacobs Ladder drones a bit even if I love it overall, and some of the keys on Entre Nous are a bit cheesy... other than that agreed pretty much.

TSOR is to me their signature song. The first song after they stopped emulating their program heroes. Not the most compelling musically but always fun live and I like the lyrics.

Freewill has great playing.

Jacob's Ladder has a long build that is very creative with odd time signatures, but I always feel that it needs more lyrics. When they break into the 'follow men's eyes....' part and the song is ending I find myself surprised that it's over, like part of the song was skipped.

Entre Nous is great. Love the lyrics and music. Long overdue when they finally played it live.

Different Strings makes me appreciate Geddy as a lyricist. I also wish they would make songs like this more often to give the albums dynamics.

Natural Science is great. Prerfer the original to the altered version on recent tours.

Waves is a truly fantastic album, overall 9/10, only flaw is that it's not long enough!

I have heard about bands entering the recording studio and asking for the Back in Black (AC/DC) sound.
Well I'd ask for the "Permanent Waves" sound.

If we want to do ratings...

The Spirit Of Radio: 13/15
Freewill: 13/15
Jacob's Ladder: 13/15
<Entre Nous>: 11/15 (note that this is still "very good", and it's not really much worse than the rest of the album)
Different Strings: 12/15
*Natural Science*: 15/15
