What is the single most underrated Rush song?

:sigh: This has probably been done before, but who cares…

I'm going to go obscure here and say Nocturne. Catchy enough, nice and heavy. "Dream, temporary madness…" I love how Geddy sings that line.

I've got a few:

Fly By Night

I Think I'm going Bald

Twilight Zone

Cinderella Man

A Farewell to Kings

Madrigal

Chemistry

Turn the Page

You're a metal monster, ducky...

I wouldn't call anything from 74-81 underrated, except maybe lessons or I think I'm going bald.

I would pick kid gloves, open secrets and high water.

outside of rush land, everything they've done is underrated besides 2112 and pictures

Cinderella Man and Turn the Page are the two that come to mind. Alex's arpeggiation during the chorus of Turn the Page is some of his most ingenious playing

I didn't know so many Rush fans don't know the meaning of the word "single".

what's giving some people the impression that fly by night and something for nothing are underrated?

In the case of Fly By Night people tend to diss it as a simple song, I think Peart doesn't like it, they never play it live and you never hear it praised along with a lot of the highly regarded stuff. I've always liked it though from way back when I first heard it around 1980, it's never got old for me.

peart doesn't even like cygnus x-1!

FBN is a textbook example of a perfect, feel-good 70s hard rock tune.

Peart doesn't like anything pre-Moving Pictures.

Geddy Lee doesn't like Fly By Night either. Or Lakeside Park.

What the artists actually like or dislike regarding their own work doesn't matter in the slightest though.
