mandydog
I have to mention this since it's quite relevant to current news, Bono and Robin look like each other at times. Anyone else notice? http://a3.files.biography.com/image/upload/c_fill,g_face,h_300,q_80,w_300/MTIwNjA4NjM0MDI0NTkyOTA4.jpghttp://michaelstvtray.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/burt-ward-robin.jpg
ReRushed
I'm half way through my first listen. It's pretty much what I expected. I feel U2 is incapable of not making a generic sounding U2 album. They ran out of ideas decades ago.

Get it!

Lorraine
I loved U2 from the first moment I heard "I Will Follow" in the very late seventies. Haven't heard anything they've done since the eighties, but when they were good, they were good.
Rutlefan
^ Yeah, I fell out of love fairly early on, but they were the larger than life band at one time, and in some ways still are. They have the occasional amazing song still. I heard this in a store other day and it reminded me of how great they can be: Which reminds me of this. Outside of La Villa I'm not that into instrumentals, but I loove this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9igEFpsI_s&index=14&list=PLAF7AD791DE8EA15B
Turbine Freight
Bono the billionaire whores himself & his b®and out to Apple to make even more billions. He has to be the world's most pig-ignorant hypocrite. Edited September 10, 2014 by Turbine Freight
Hatchetaxe&saw
Not my cup of tea. Zooropa & Achtung Baby were wonderful, to be fair. But everything else bores the living bejesus out of me.

x1yyz
I loved U2 from the first moment I heard "I Will Follow" in the very late seventies. Haven't heard anything they've done since the eighties, but when they were good, they were good. Yes. Some of their best songs were on the EP "Three" which came out before their first album. Really raw stuff, they couldn't sing or play very well, but that music was overflowing with energy, passion and emotion. It was incredible. My favourite song of theirs is "Treasure (What Ever Happened to Pete the Chop)" which was only found as a b-side to something from War.
librarian
Was fan for many years, but kind of grew out of them, I guess. I actually wrote a term paper about them as my music credit for high school. They were a crucial part of my late teens, early 20's. Loved Adam Clayton - BTW

greyfriar
They were a great live band, with fantastic songs...then came 1986...
Lorraine
I saw them only once in 1987 I think. I don't even know what tour it was, but they put on a good show. Bono had a lot of energy back then. Come to think of it, so did I. :codger:

Lorraine
Madison Square Garden and Brendan Byrne Arena, the latter being somewhere in New Jersey on a former swamp land.
