Hi,

First post! Thought I'd share some pics of Alex playing the Supermarket in Toronto a few nights ago.

RR

Edit, I should add that this was for a CD release party for Karem Malicki-Sanchez. Alex produced and played on his CD!

It's funny when the first thing you look at is the guitar.

The Sportscaster was the first thing I noticed (then the fact that he had no shoelaces)

I have a pair of the laceless converse myself. Comfy and convenient! :sundog:

I thought it was a Stratocaster. :)

Yeah I noticed that too. I've seen him with those shoes on before.

Originally it was. He added a different tremolo bridge, pickups and jack. He nicknamed them Hentor Sportscasters and has that name on the headstock. From what I remember he's got several.

I noticed his sneaks right away too. Thought they were high-tops.

I feel a bit sorry for those jeans.

The "Hentor" is wired different, too. (It's the same jack, just flipped upside down - instead of the 1/4" plug recessing, it sticks out.) Below is a pciture of a regular HSS Strat, and you can see the toggle switch is in a different location on Alex's custom one. (Performs different function, too - and I think the Hentor just has one master tone and volume knobs.) Alex had this one, a black one and a red one. He plays the red one in the Distant Early Warning official video.)

I think it's awesome that Alex was playing the Hentor recently, since he also used it on the John Wesley album work he did . . . maybe on into the studio for the next Rush album and get back some of that 80s mojo.

FYI, here's the thread that Freddy was active in, promoting his custom built Hentors, using Alex's for the guide.

I'm not sure where else at TRF this was posted, but I thought it was worth adding it here in this thread:

wasn't really very interesting to me until around the 7 1/2 minute mark. Pretty tasty squeals.

Song was really boring for the most part.

Yep. I agree. But, I liked that Alex was playing the Hentor. I don't know or can't remember if it was mentioned: is that one of his original Hentors (red, black & this one) and did Freddie rehab it? Or, was this a new one that Freddie or somebody made for him?
