Like it all, though I like some of it much more than other parts of it. Best part: No One At The Bridge. That bit is 2112 worthy.

I still think this album is horrible. I hope it dies in a fire.

It burns with a righteous fire, but it will never die.

Shame.

It's a shame you can't appreciate such a fantastic album.

If others can hate on modern Rush without reprimand, then I reserve the right to hate Caress of Steel. I don't see what the problem is. :)

The problem lies in resurrecting an already boring thread with a boring statement that need not be said

I'm not a big fan of 'modern' era Rush (with the exception of the brilliant CA album) but I never make negative comments about those albums. I tend to keep any negativity to myself as I don't care to discount any album which could cause 'hard feelings' to people that have strong emotional attachments to those albums. To wish it to 'die in a fire' is very sophomoric.

Well, it was meant to be funny. There's my sense of humor for you. :) I promise I'm not as immature in real life.

Not quite, anyway… :laughing guy:

Valid point, there. Nothing wrong with expressing dislike of anything you choose to.

Whether this will seem interesting to anyone or not, I don't know, but...I sort of see Caress of Steel and Clockwork Angels as fairly closely related. Could even be the same protagonist in both albums- the former as a twenty-something with a combination of wide-eyed wonder and some dark emotional issues, and the latter as a much older man who has spent his life figuring out how to rise above, while still acknowledging that the end is waiting round the corner.

Great, great album that could have achieved Mt Rushmore status if Garden Road had been included

The Necromancer is one of my favorite songs ever

Interesting.

While Garden Road has a completely killer riff and rhythm, I don't see it fitting in with Caress.

But

:haz:

That's interesting. I never thought about it that way.

That being said, Clockwork Angels did a much better job at telling its story and staying interesting throughout.
