EagleMoon
Available Light is bloody fantastic! I know, right? Can't agree more! Ugh. It's one of the most cringe-worthy songs in their catalog.I actually really like it and I really can't explain it. If its jazzy in nature then that is probably why... I think it's the vocal that's so awful. I just don't get why people like it. It's so awkward sounding. That's what I think is kind of neat (for lack of a better word) about it and different. I shouldn't like it because of their music that I truly love but I do... Explain that last sentence. :)Because it's so different from what I typically enjoy was my point... Ah I see. :)

I was blown away by everything about Available Light on my first listen Exactly. I was like. An actual piano ballad? Noice. Good vocal by Ged. Heartfelt lyrics. The last in a string of excellent album closers. Interesting. Well, if everyone liked the same things, life would sure be boring.

Blue J
Available Light is one of the most beautiful songs in the Rush catalogue. Then again, Tai Shan is also one of my favourites so whatever. Me too and me three, too!

Available Light is an exception to that.

Then again, Tai Shan is also one of my favourites so whatever. Me too and me three, too! I feel like Narps whenever someone slates Lessons with this one sometimes! This Shan is a great, playful song! "But geddy hates it!" Ggggrrr...WELL MAYBE GEDDY HATES YOU!

Entre_Perpetuo
Presto. Wimpy production actually works for the songs, plus the songs are mainly good to great. More interesting/less sappy sounding than HYF (in my humble opinion). RTB, however...killed by production on all but 3 or 4 tracks.

Blue J
This is a really tough choice for me. I like both albums more than most people here. I can't choose.
rocket ignites
Roll the Bones is top heavy with a few great/good songs, but I'd rather enjoy Presto start to finish.
Geddy Jazz
For some reason I missed Presto when it came out....I was away from Rush, not because of HYF , but I was away...Bones brought me back to the Boyz....went to see them again live and from then on...I have grown to dig/ like Presto, but years after it came out. RTB brought a lot of old and new Rush fans into the fold after nearly a decade of waning interest. With "Face Up" and "Bet Your Life"? You Bet Your Life is possibly the worst piece of dreck that Rush ever committed to an album. However, that being said, I quite like the rest of Roll the Bones. Cut off YBYL, and it would have been nine songs, forty-three minutes...and a really, really good album. (Yes, I really do think so!).
coventry
Presto. It simply doesn't seem as forced of an album as RTB.
Blue J
Presto. It simply doesn't seem as forced of an album as RTB. Overall, I do still like Presto better than Roll the Bones. I wanted to put in a good word for the latter, because I like it more than most people seem to. But Presto is a great record!

chemistry1973
Presto the song was pretty cringey when it was released. RtB the song was even cringier. When Rush played Presto during the time machine tour it was utterly triumphant. I only ever enjoyed RTB when they changed the tour video.
