Tough choice though as I think Power Windows is great to.

Both are great, but GUP is better.

For the synth era (82-87) -
1. Hold Your Fire
2. Power Windows
3. Grace Under Pressure
4. Signals
But IMO all these albums are amazing! I love them all and 2-4 are tied! But I'm going to choose Power Windows because it was it's my 2nd favorite Rush album in all!

I voted for Power Windows but this was the hardest album battle for me yet. They're both equal to me, in their greatness. My vote could change tomorrow, but right now, definitely PoW.

PoW has a lot of bad songs...GuP doesn't.

Grace Under Pressure.

It's the record I enjoy listening to the most of all Rush records.

^^^^^That about sums it up for me.....I can listen to it from beginning to end with no hesitation. Also my first RUSH album I bought, my first live RUSH concert of 49 now, my first fight at a concert....basically the start of my RUSHMANIA.

Your first fight?  How often do you fight at concerts?

I can not vote in this pole. It would be unfair. PoW is my #1 and GuP is #2 favorites of all Rush Lp's!!!

I rate them in the exact opposite order.

This was a much harder choice than I thought it would be. I have to go with GuP but it is only .00001% better.

Lol, that was my first and only fight @ any concert that is that I can remember of over 500 concerts I've seen. I was young, I had some drink, some smoke ( to the point where on cassette, in a car waiting on a friend I blasted The Camera Eye prior to GUP show. I started freaking out when it started up wondering who in hell is honking their horns on a parked car) went to the show @ the Hampton Coliseum, VA. I bought the white GUP shirt early and some really drunk dude grabbed it and took off. Well I ran him down tackled him and proceed to give him a nice pounding not to unconsciousness but enough to get by now my torn and tattered shirt back. Of which I do not have today.

I think I would also rank them in the opposite order...and they'd all fall to the bottom half of album rankings.

Went with Power Windows, mainly because it's the one I most recently listened to, and I was blown away by the last three songs from Side 2.  What a run of perfection.

Interesting...side 2 of PoW is my least favorite 4 songs from the band...just hard to listen to.

Territories hasn't aged well for my ears, but the other three I really love.  I only listen to it in the car, though.  That makes a difference to me.

Emotion Detector has grown on me, but Mystic Rhythms and Middletown Dreams never clicked with me.  And Territories is just hard to listen to.

Hard to listen to? What does that mean exactly? I think Territories is the best song on the album. Very dynamic and grooving. And those drums...
