What songs (from the 70's) do you guys think he could sing still?

Rivendell he could sing. Notbing else from FBN

Nothing from CoS

Tears he could sing. Passage to Bangok he could still sing also.

Closer to the Heart he can sing. Xanadu he could still sing.

The Trees he can still sing. Hemispheres (Prelude) maybe. Obviously he could sing all these tuned down, I'm talking about in the Orginal key! Did I miss any songs? Thoughts? Comments? Insults?

Stuff he can sing well enough that has a chance in hell of being pulled out:

Working Man

By-Tor maaaaaaybe

A Passage To Bangkok

Tears, but them pulling that out is a stretch if I ever saw one.

Xanadu :D

Closer To The Heart

Cinderella Man

Madrigal, but I'd be disappointed if they devoted a song slot to this one.

The Trees

And then La Villa, but that doesn't count. And as we all know they've been doing 2112 downtuned since T4E, so that doesn't count at this point.

Him being able to sing a 70´s song is quite different from us wanting to hear it live on the next tour. Of all the songs mentioned in this thread, I´d like to see them pulling out of the vault Xanadu, Bangkok and The Trees only.

This one is on the border line of 70's/80's but Jacob's Ladder is an easy vocal in comparison and would be a real crowd pleaser.

By-Tor isn't too bad, he could pull that off for sure.

I didn't include Permanent Waves but if you really want to count that one, then the whole album could be sung by him, no problem. And I support the performance of the whole album! :D

I'd go apeshit just for Natural Science. Never get tired of that one.

Only one because it is the one and only - Xanadu - and no skimping either. The whole song.

He may change a few notes but he can do it. He has to do it for you Lorraine.

Yes, indeed. And Geddy has to say, before they begin, while he looks down at me sitting there: Lorraine, this next song is for you!

As cool as that would be, it may kill you with joy. We don't want that.

Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres

Dare I dream. :eyeroll:

To tell you the truth, I would love it if they every song in either the first or second half was from the seventies.

Neil would probably kill himself haha

It's a real shame that he's so down on the 70s stuff. Hopefully Alex stamps his foot down and says "Neil! I've had enough of playing all the pussy shit all of the time! Let's play something bad ass like Cinderella Man!" Hahaha

They could do a "love story" section with all of these songs:

In the Mood

Need Some Love

Panacea

Sweet Miracle

Madrigal

Halo Effect

Ghost of a Chance

Entre Nous

Open Secrets

Cold Fire

It kind of tells a relationship story from plain hormonal infatuation to the idealistic conception of love to the cold hard reality of the struggles of making a real relationship work...
