The Cat 3
Bluefox4000, You have to love any era of Pink Floyd's music! Thanks for the vote, I really thought Pink Floyd or The Who would run away with this thing.

The Cat 3
Tombstone... Lyle would qualify as I have all of his releases. Both solo and with the Very Large Band. I've seen him with John Hiatt and with the Very Large Band. I'm seeing him in Red Bank, NJ at Count Basie Theater next month. ~Cheers! PS, I was thinking about a Chris Isaak marathon as well.

The Cat 3
Seque... Regarding collecting music, etc.. Please keep in mind that I have collecting music ever since I "borrowed" me Mum's "The Early Beatles" LP when I was 5 years old, 46 years ago. The first bit I bought on my own was "Hush" by Deep Purple with my very own money a have been at it ever since!
Turbine Freight
It has to be Bowie. Come on RGLT, you know it makes sense! All that listening pleasure.
Segue Myles
Regarding Pink Floyd, as a band I have always respected more than I actually like, I started playing DSOTM today and was swamped by its breathtaking beauty! Not sure if I could sit through it again any time soon, but my oh my it was a treat. Edited July 24, 2014 by Segue Myles
Rick N. Backer
Segue, I think when you're just getting into an artist, your best bet is to find a consensus quality greatest hits package (because many artists have a few) and see how you feel about the stuff that "everybody" seems to like. Then, if you find you like all or most of it, you delve into individual studio albums. For Bowie you should try the 2 CD Best of Bowie.I have a phobia of greatest hits packages...I want the full package dammit! Lol in this instance, I think this might actually be a good idea... I love them. In fact, I learned to love Bowie by getting the cassettes of ChangesOneBowie and ChangesTwoBowie when I was probably 14 I would guess. Now I have all of it.

The Cat 3
The Kinks marathon came to a close today. 1095 tracks of pure Kinks fun. So, now the question remains... ...who is next? Rush? David Bowie? Pink Floyd? Ramones? Thin Lizzy? Dire Straits? The Who?
