But seriously, Speed of Love is a nice song.  I quite like it for what it is.  I mean, it's pretty sensitive.  It's not as sensitive as, say, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang from Cat Scratch Fever, but then not everyone can be as sweet as Uncle Ted.

Why does everyone hate the lyrics so much?!?! They're good lyrics...

I'm listening to it again and I will adjust my previous comment to say it's the chorus that doesn't do it for me.  For some reason "At the speeeeed of looove" just doesn't work for me.  And the music behind the lyrics I find very middle-of-the-road and uninspired.  There's a prominent cheesy funk-bass part in the middle of the song that I don't like.  I guess the song as a whole just isn't my thing.

Ah, after listening to The Speed of Love, Double Agent comes on!  So refreshing.  The band has again found their testicles.

You can see how far the love for Rush goes when a topic about Speed of Love has spread out on more than 3 pages. Love is blind...

I like "Double Agent."  I don't LOVE it, and I find the riff very redundant (they have SEVERAL similar riffs in different songs) but I really like how it begins, and it's some of Neil's only redeeming work regarding their later albums; the drums are nearly impossible.

"Double Agent" is a DIFFERENT song in a sea of four albums of near-sameness.  I don't quite get the hatred for it...sure, it's kinda silly, but it's a GOOD silly.  If you want cringeworthy platypus piss, then that'd be "Alien Snore" with all that "race is not a competition" unlistenable dreck; if you can't take Geddy singing "soooo tight" but you can sit there and not want to puke your intestines out when he sings "for you and me, sex is not a competition...sex is not a job description" then there is something wrong with your brain...and your peter!

lol

Quite so, RUDT.  And we know you love the song too because a true  Rush fan doesn't dislike anything Rush has ever done.  Is that not right?

It's common knowledge that if you listen to "Speed of Suck" multiple times back-to-back you WILL be attacked by a rabid gila monster.  That seriously hampers your ability to type on the forum especially if said rabid gila monster nibbles on your fingertips (which they've been known to do).  If "Speed of Suck" is STILL playing whilst the rabid gila is still nibbling, then ANOTHER rabid gila monster will show up and rape the first gila monster with a miniature gila monster-sized tire iron.

Let this be a lesson, kids...
