duffman452001
Hi guys new poster 1st time posting. Similar to another user here, I'm looking to get a sound similar to that of Alex's "Great White" Signature Aurora. For now I'm going the cheapo route, and will be modifying my current guitar, an 8 year old Squire. I've been looking around at pickups similar to those in the Signature, and I;ve read in several places that the pickups themselves are similar in sound to EMG S active pickups. There's a company called TNT Custom Guitars that selles their own brand of pickups called Dragonfire. They have a EMG S clone, and they sell a pre-wired pickguard with them in it, along with a 7 way switch and other tone modifying electronics. http://www.dragonfir...and-BCU-329.htm For $130 I figure why not, and I'll be giving them a try. Eventually Ill build another guitar with a solid Alder body and floyd rose, but this will do for now. Anyone have any experience with this line of pickups? 1-0-0-1-0-0-1
Alex got that sound with active single coil pickups and solid state amps. Pretty much the exact opposite of what he used before and after that period. Sorry, I know that doesn't quite answer your question.
