Yovani Gallardo took the first win of the year with some good pitching and a lot of help from his bullpen. The Brewers hit the ball hard all day, which is a good sign.....especially for Ramirez, who normally starts off the season slowly. Ryan Braun returned from his suspension and started in right field. He received a rousing standing ovation when he came to the plate in the 1st inning. It looks like the vast majority of Brewer fans have chosen to forgive the shamed slugger for his indiscretions, but he will have to turn a deaf ear when the team goes on the road. Good game, Brewers! 161 more wins to go!! :haz: :haz:

Principled Man
Brewers 6, Red Sox 2Brewers 7, Red Sox 6 (11 innings)Brewers 4, Red Sox 0 (SWEEP!) The Brew Crew is letting the League know that they've come to play! Solid pitching has been the key so far. Few earned runs for the pitching staff, offensive contributions from the entire lineup, but the defense could be a little bit better..... Three games in Philly, and then TEN games against the rival Pirates and Cardinals.....this could be interesting!! :)

A marvelous 6-0 road trip puts the Brew Crew in 1st place in the NL Central, but rival Pittsburgh is coming to town tonight for three fun-filled games. Three games against the arch-rival Cardinals after that, and then four more against the Pirates. This will really test the hungry Brewers......they had better be ready!! Lohse was dominant, striking out 9 Pirates in 8 & 2/3 innings. The Brewers' suffocating pitching staff has been the story of the year so far, and the team and their fans are enjoying the ride!! :haz: :haz: :haz: Next Up: Milwaukee Brewers (10-2, 9-game winning streak!) v. St. Louis Cardinals (7-5, The Arch-Enemy) The fans in the stand will be loud and plenty, the Brewers are pumped and confident, and every inning should be a battle between the two NL Central foes. There is plenty of respect between the two clubs, but not much love......not much at all.... :laughing guy:
Principled Man
Once predicted to have a miserable April (due to the high level of competition), the 16-6 Milwaukee Brewers are boasting a dominating pitching staff, led by Kyle Lohse (below), who delivered yet another solid win last night against the Padres. Francisco Rodriguez has already posted NINE saves in as many opportuniies, and the entire bullpen has been lights out, save for one rough night in Pittsburgh. http://media.jrn.com/images/440*300/b99254419z.1_20140423234807_000_glm5t5bm.1-0.jpg Will the pitching staff keep up the great work, or will they falter? Once the Brewers' bats start to heat up, they could spell real trouble for the NL Central.... :haz: :haz:

Missing Segura, Braun, Ramirez, and Lucroy, the Brew Crew took it to the Cardinals in another never-say-die, extra-inning game. Kyle Lohse shook off a 1st inning 3-run homer by Molina and mowed down the Cardinals thru 6 innings, and he also had a super-clutch 2-run single to tie the game at 3. The Brewer bullpen gave another excellent effort, and Francisco Rodriguez notched his 13th save in the month of April. The NL Central leading Brewers are now 20-7, 11-1 on the road. :o Their 6.5 game lead over the Cardinals is a wonder to behold!

Principled Man
Watch out…here come the Yankees… Ironically, one of those Yankees will probably get a standing ovation from Brewer fans on Saturday night. CC Sabathia pitched for the Brewers for only half a season (2008), but he literally carried the team to the playoffs. First playoff appearance in 26 years for the Crew, and it was directly because of CC (11-2, 1.65 ERA)......
Principled Man
Brewers 8Twins 5 http://media.jrn.com/images/660*499/b99285193z.1_20140606001708_000_gmr6hbna.1-0.jpg Not even a Grand Salami from those pesky Twins could keep the Brew Crew from hitting back and winning a split of the season series. Carlos Gomez started the comeback with a rocket line drive 3-run homer to dead center, and Khris Davis and Lonathan Lucroy added 2-run homers. A reshuffled lineup has paid big dividends for the Brew Crew. After a mediocre month of May (key injuries, up & down pitching, and cold bats), the offense has been greatly re-energized. Ryan Braun is now batting 2nd, with Lucroy 3rd and Gomez 4th, and the results have been most impressive. With Aramis Ramirez back from the DL, the Brewer offense is in a really good groove. All they need now is for pitchers Gallardo and Peralta to get out of their respective funks, so they can put some distance between themselves and their arch-rival Cardinals. Principled Man
The Milwaukee Brewers enjoyed a very rare sweep of the Rockies in Colorado. Usually their most hated place to play, Coors Field turned out to be their best friend this weekend. :laughing guy: Brewers 13Rockies 10 23 total runs, 35 total hits between the two teams. The scoring started right from the get-go, and no lead was safe. Pitchers' ERA's soared! Brewers 9Rockies 4 The Brewer bats were hot again, but they also benefitted from a sloppy Rockie defense. FOUR errors by the home team led to many BOOS by the fans. THREE Brewers scored on a wild pitch, which was accompanied by a throwing error by the catcher, and both catcher and pitcher not paying attention to the 3rd Brewer baserunner coming home. Rockie fans were quite IRATE.... Brewers 6Rockies 5 Baserunning entered the Twilight Zone once again. The Brewers' Ryan Braun scored from 3rd thanks to Jonathan Lucroy provoking a rundown between 1st and 2nd. Even weirder was the Rockies' Corey Dickerson hitting a clutch triple in the bottom of the 9th, only to get thrown out trying to go home on a bad throw by Carlos Gomez. Dickerson stumbled as he broke for home and ended up in No Man's Land. The next batter, Wilin Rosario, hit a home run that would have tied the game. The Brewers were 6-1 on this road trip, and they're enjoying their NL-leading 47 WINS. :haz: :haz: :haz:
