Rush Plotting 41st Anniversary Tour for 2015

In 2000, Yes gave their longtime fans the Masterworks tour, which comprised of 8 epic Yes numbers, each of which was at least 20 years old or more. Imagine a Rush Masterworks tour where every song is say, pre-Presto era (where the album writing really began its decline). Start with the full versions of Hemisphere's and 2112 (the way it should be played) and sprinkle in other old school Rush epics like Xanadu, Jacobs Ladder, Cygnus X, etc. None of the new crap (not that I think its all bad) but a show for those of us that have been there from the beginning or close to it. And puleeeeze, no additional musicians. Can do away with the dopey videos too. Just Rush music being played the way it was meant to be played. My two cents.

I don't think it's very possible, Geddy butchered the vocals (not that I blame him!) when they did this on the CP tour!

Butchered the Vocals? Its mostly an instrumental.. I don't recall him singing badly at all during Hemispheres (Prelude). He just changed the melody.. a bit.

I edited my post. He just changed the Melody a bit! It surprising what you sometimes remember from a show. I didn't remember him singing at all then as I was playing the video.. I said oops... Need to back track. But the vocals sound fine. He just changes a few notes there at the end.

For the most part I guess he pulls it off just fine, but at certain parts like when he says "The struggle of the ancients first began" it's really bad! I would hate to see Ged try to sing it now!

I 'll give you that. Specially after how he pulled off The Garden. Not that great vocally at all. Anyway, I don't know why they don't just play the instrumental part of the Prelude. It much longer than what they played during Counterparts.

Hmmmm! All of Hemispheres Prelude going into Xanadu would be great!

Definitely! If they cut the vocal part from the Prelude and went into Xanadu, it would indeed be perfect! Geddy could totally pull off Xanadu Edited by Geddy's Soul Patch

I just had a thought - since Hemispheres follows 2112 on my set list, I think Geddy could pull it off if it was tuned down a step - since Geddy and Alex would already have their tuned-down guitars from 2112, and could immediately launch into Hemispheres. Thoughts?

I hope we can hear Xanadu again at least one more time.

How can they deprive of us hearing the greatest song ever? We must hear it once more!

Actually I would prefer Cygnul followed by Hemisphere

prelude then Xanadu.

I think By-Tor into Hemispheres would be better.

You know that would work very nicely at the slower Wah-Wah Guitar Part.
