Oh I totally do the mayo/ketchup mix for fries! Yum! But I'm very picky with what brands and make sure there's *slightly* more mayo for the perfect mix.
It's different than French dressing- French dressing is sweet and tangy.

Do you people who like MW use it in things like potato salad?  I can't imagine anything yuckier, except maybe egg salad with MW.  I think maybe the only way to make an egg nastier is to mash it all up with MW.

I VERY rarely eat potato salad, macaroni salad or egg salad.  IF I eat potato salad, it has to be the mustard variety.  The others I just REFUSE to eat.  Oh, and coleslaw is out of the question as well.  Any of those creamy "salads" run the risk of having mayo in them and that's just f-ing gross.  And, I don't make them at home.  Just not a huge fan.

I will make my own chicken or tuna salad at home, but I replace the mayo with plain greek yogurt instead.  Much healthier for you and I don't really notice a taste difference because I use spices like paprika, dill, curry, etc. to pep up the flavor anyway.
I always loved my mothers potato salad but when I met my wife I never really liked "her familys" potato salad very much. My mothers was much drier and seemed to be made with mustard more so than mayo. My in laws potato salad is much "gushier" as I call it. To wet and gushy for me. I will eat the in laws salad but my mothers much drier and yellow in color potato salad tastes much better to me...

I actually prefer oil and vinegar-based potato salads, but as far as the creamy kind goes, I agree with you.  I don't want to eat a bowl of potatoes drowned in mayo* - I definitely prefer more of a mustard taste.  The mayo has only one job - to hold everything together.

*Mayonnaise on french fries, especially homemade mayo, is a taste sensation.
You had me and then lost me. I have been with folks that do the mayo and ketchup thing with the fries.... Oh no

You mean mixing the ketchup and mayo?  No, that's gross.  And it has to be good mayonnaise - the best plate of fries I ever ate was in Quebec City.  The mayonnaise was homemade and the fries, skins on, were perfectly cooked.

  Mayo on anything is gross.  I prefer my fries with just a hint of salt and the skins still on.  :P
Really? I didn't figure you for a girl who liked the skin still on..... :D-13: :D

This is the only exception!  :D

Miracle Whip all the way! I love the tangy flavor it offers. Especially when making salads. Mayo is just boring too me. :P

Mayo is way better, but I am fine with Miracle Whip too.

Used my leftover Easter eggs to make deviled eggs today. I used MIRACLE WHIP, whole ground mustard, sriracha, garlic, a dash of worcestershire, and a dusting of my proprietary "kick it up Cajun" paprika/cayenne blend on top.

Satan himself could not produce a better deviled egg.
