EDIT: This one is for the MEN since we can't have a double-poll without people having to vote in both and I doubt that everybody is bi-seuxal on here. Hehehe

So just out of curiosity I made this little poll for both the ladies and gents of the forum. Some of us ladies were talking about our preferences for older men and I was wondering how people generally feel about age differences in relationships and what their personal preferences are and why.

For the people in relationships out there I am wondering what you PREFER, not the age of your partner, unless your partner falls into your preferred age range, but the age range of the people you'd look for if you were single.

Obviously, due to our various age ranges, not all of us can select 20+ years younger and whatnot without risking going to jail were we to actually date somebody more than 20 years younger so keep it clean and legal. But I don't really need to tell you that.*

Also, after you complete the poll please give the reasons as to why you checked the option(s) that you did, as well as provide examples of personal experiences if you have them, if you are comfortable doing so. I am just really curious and think this would be an interesting discussion for us to have. And why not, we already talk about literally everything else in here anyway. :laughing guy:

My age (whatever it happens to be at the moment) less 22.

Just kidding.  I think it's helpful to be roughly the same age.   My wife is four years younger than me, and that's never been a problem.

Truth is I have no idea what I would prefer. I can find sexy in women from 20 to at least 70. All different shapes and sizes and colors. When my brain registers and sees sexy I don't check back with it and ask why?... :)

Slightly older has been ideal for two reasons:

1) Their wisdom and composure help offset my immaturity.

2) My relationships with younger women tend to end in really stupid ways.  At least the older ones usually have sensible reasons for dismissing me.

I think that close to the same age is good for me. Now that I've gotten a bit older, it does seem that as much as ten years younger would be OK with me. A couple of years older than I am is fine, too. My wife is four months older than I am, and we've been together for quite awhile.

The greatest age difference I ever had in an actual relationship that I was in was seven years (she was younger). I absolutely adored her, and it was great, for awhile. But she ended up tearing my heart out and feeding it to me while her (ahem) other boyfriends watched. So...it's safe to say that didn't end well. But it wasn't because of the age difference.

I answered 5+ younger. It was closest. My relationships tend to have that age different by chance, so I guess it's just normal for me. I'm 30 but I think it shows that my mental age is way younger than that :chickendance:

Just wanted to clear this one up. It has nothing to do with just having a pulse. My point is, "sexy" comes in various sizes, shapes, ages and colors. All I am saying is that when I see it, I don't really wonder why I think a woman is sexy. If my eye is drawn and my testosterone follows suit then so be it.... :)

When I first got separated I told myself the range or whatever would be +/- 10 years but it all depends on the person of course.

And lo and behold, my girlfriend ended up being 9 1/2 years younger than me which was a pretty good coincidence :)

I can't vote for any of those for my only criteria is Hotness, 18 or 81 - must be hot.

Oh, if they ain't an Agnostic, Atheist or Mystic they gotta be REALLY Hot IF the subject(s) actually come-up.
When I go out, not with dancing as the primary goal, I do wear a tee-shirt that makes my position most clearly obvious.

Of course, the hot-ratio doth drop with age.

If a person was born after A Farewell to Kings and Star Wars came out, I don't think they're old enough to have any idea what they are talking about. :D

So I guess I would tolerate a range of 6-7 years, fortunately my wife is 2 years older than me so it's not a problem.

I was in a bookstore lately and caught a woman checking me out. It was quite obvious. She must have been around 40 years old and it was the first time I felt attracted to one that age. There was definitely sexual tension between us.

So maybe it's time I re-evaluate my answer?

It helps if they grew up in or around the same era, basically High School /College years...over 7 years or so, the cultural differences start to show, from my experience

I think a lot of women are getting away from wanting to have kids now that it's acceptable in some circles to be honest and up-front about not wanting to have children.
