i guess im in the minority for voting for DOG YEARS. maybe im a "sad son of a bitch" sad.gif

I wouldn't say that. Personally, I think it's a pretty good song myself. Everyone seems to hate it. Don't really see why, sounds good. Not the best song on the album, but it's damn good. Don't feel so alone! wink.gif

Driven. That song has a drive of it's own. It's perfectly written, and such an adrenaline surge. And if you know me through these posts at all.... you know that's what gets me. My favs from this CD are, T4E, Driven (of course), Half The World (an underrated classic), Time and Motion, Totem (HUGE), and Resist (HUGE). Big props to Virtuality, too. smile.gif

Edited to fix sooopid typo.

With Driven, I think it's better when it's played on Rush In Rio. You gotta love that bass solo.

Right on! Geddy smokes on that bass solo! GeddyFinal.gif new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

my vote's for Dog Years..it's just a fun song..i love it biggrin.gif

of course, this album rox my sox off & was hard to choose between..Driven has to be one of the best bass songs Geddy's ever created, but i agree that it's better on RIR. so it was Half the World or Dog Years..tough!

Love every song from this CD except Dog Year, but have to pick Test For Echo because of the amazing chorus where Neil plays 16th note double bass beats plus tom fills, Geddy runs through his bass line in 8th notes and Alex cruises along in quarter notes, wow, that's intergration.

Driven is good. But the way "Resist" rises and falls - I just heart.gif it.

That's a song I would consider if I was on a desserted island and only

got to pick one song to listen to.

I like "Dog Years" too.

Definitely T4E, and the version on Different Stages is by far the best.....Alex's grace notes throughout the song are better than on the studio album and the audiences screams are perfectlyt placed to bring chills up and down my spine...
