Argh, this was a tough one. I love "Animate," "Stick it Out," "Cut to the Chase," and "Cold Fire" a lot, but without a doubt, it has to be "Leave that Thing Alone." Killer song.

Since the poll asks for best song "from the album," I went with "Animate," which has a great lyric and which kicks things off really well. But my favorite song as a sheer composition is "Between Sun and Moon," which I first heard in the live board "bootleg" on Rush in Rio. The live version has an energy that's missing in the studio version of that track, whereas "Animate" on Counterparts is fully charged and so gets my vote for this poll.

A really good album. My favorite songs are Cut to the Chase that includes my favorite Lifeson solo and Alien Shore because it has some really interesting lyrics and great musical structure. It's a great album throughout. Stick it out has a VERY cool riff!

Again, didnt hear much from this album, but the two songs that i did hear are really good. I voted for Stick It Out. very hard and almost metalish. Animate is good too.

For me, their poorest album,full of throwaway play-by-numbers corporate rock...
