That's a load of crap, just like every other "Top blah blah blah" list... Oh well... It is interesting to see that not one member of Led Zeppelin are on that list.

Again, top 105 AMERICAN rock idols. LOL.

I do agree though, it is a bunch of crap, there are many artists that are way lower then they deserve to be and many way higher then thier influence actually extends to. This is a radio station that plays pretty much only the new, alternative stuff (a lot of which is really good btw) and some alternative staples from the 90's as well. They also do a few cool programs where they bring out obscure 80's new wave, electronic, not so well known songs, which is really cool too. But thier listener base consequently is not the oldest, so they dont have the extensive musical background that you would need to be able to do a poll like this.

My list was..

1) Jim Morrison (no way in hell he is #55, he deserves to be #1)

2) Trent Reznor (explain to me why he is behind Marilyn Manson, there wouldnt even be a Marilyn Manson if it werent for Reznor)

3) Billy Corgan

4) Axl Rose

5) David Lee Roth

One should be in the biz more than 10 years before qualifying as an icon, methinks.

And if you want to get technical, David Byrne is Scottish born, just lived here forever.

Same with Neil Young, Canadian born.

This list, like most music list, is mostly BS...so I'll break it down 2 ways.

What a brutal list. Kurt Cobain ahead of Elvis and Frank Sinatra, and whoever else? Sorry, I never got the point of Cobain. What exactly did this guy do?

Eddie Van Halen in the 40s? Jim Morrison in the 50s? Behind the Weezer frontman? Nice to see the industry lapdogs have a sense of humor.
