This is just supposed to be a bit of fun. :)

You get an email from Geddy...
They can't pick a setlist for the R40/R41/R42 tour.

You're the man (or woman) for the job.

What do you pick?

I've tried to keep my list realistic, based on what they probably would play, what they played recently (and might like to keep), what songs might be a bit tired, what songs they haven't played recently, and what songs they probably think they have to play, but also, what  I'd ike to hear)

Have fun!

The Camera Eye
Freewill
Show Don't Tell
Roll the Bones
Ghost of a Chance

I include every instrumental that they've done;

La Villa Strangiato,       YYZ,    Broon's Bane,    Where's My Thing,    Leave That Thing Alone,    Limbo,    The Main Monkey Business,    Hope

That'll save Geddy's voice in his increasing maturity.

Besides just regular tunes that the guys want to play... I figured that they MIGHT re-play the R30 Overture at the beginning of the first set, then start the second set with the R40-something overture and pick up with maybe Signals and pull a few snippets of the next several albums worth of tunes.. In another thread, I talked about how they seemed to be pulling the mid-late 80's stuff out for this tour, and that possibly they would start pulling stuff from the 90's albums out since they really haven't been THAT represented lately.  As much as I'd love for them to just pull the tunes that they did from Permanent Waves and before, I think they pull more things out from later years.

This is my effort to keep it as realistic as possible, based on the number of songs and Geddy's vocal capabilities. The rest is wishful thinking. It represents every album except the debut and CoS, only because I couldn't think of anything these guys could realistically play from those. 27 total songs (not counting the solo spots and videos), I figured two encores would be kind of interesting for them to do.

First Set

Intro Video
Tom Sawyer
Fly By Night (Not played since 1979)
Jacob's Ladder (Not played since 1980)
Open Secrets (Never played live)
Limelight
Clockwork Angels
Half The World (Not played since 1997)
Red Barchetta
Digital Man
Alien Shore (Never played live)
Kid Gloves (Not played since 1984)
Where's My Thing? (featuring Drum Solo)

Second Set

Intro Video
Headlong Flight
Subdivisions
Far Cry
How It Is (Never played live)
Mystic Rhythms (Not played since 2004)
Drum Solo (abbreviated, like The Percussor)
Scars (Not played since 1990)
The Camera Eye (New York)
Xanadu (abbreviated) (Not played since 2004)
The Garden
YYZ

Encore #1

Hemispheres: Prelude (Not played since 1994)
2112: Overture/Temples/Grand Finale
The Spirit of Radio

Encore #2

Closer To The Heart
La Villa Strangiato

Well, what about "Working Man" and "Bastille Day?"  Ged can still sing the latter, and they were playing "Working Man" earlier in this tour.

Love to hear that, but if you count that as an individual instrumental track then we'd have to ask them to include parts of By-Tor and 2112 as well. Not that I'd mind requesting those!

Bacchus Plateau would definitely be on the playlist I'd request, as would Making Memories and Cinderella Man.
