Oh this is sad. I haven’t been visiting the forum much lately but I definitely remember this thread and the heartfelt first post. RIP GJ.

I’m sorry to bring this news but I’m afraid GedsJeans is no longer with us.

Shortly after Christmas I found out that she passed away. I’m guessing it was right after she disappeared from here.

I don’t have details but in the very few messages we exchanged I could tell she had a heart of gold.

I hope this thread never leaves page one for its obvious value but also to serve as a reminder to all that we never know what someone else is going through in their life.. Sometimes people with big hearts are hurting and keep it all inside.

..Rest In Peace

Just found out about this Thread.  Read the first post and was amazed. Even though GJ found this place long after I did, she came to the right place, with the right members.  I've always felt like this also.  Only a few friends like RUSH as much as I did, but at least I didn't catch any grief for it. Even my nieces got into RUSH, recognising the greatness of their playing, lyrics, and all.  Both of my wives weren't put off by my Love of RUSH either.  I took both of them to RUSH concerts, My first wife loved Pat Benatar, and if I took her to Pat's concerts, she went with me to RUSHs!  My second wife went to RUSH because I did, and admired their world also... This news is sad. GJ was really an insightful person.  Hope she's enjoying the 'next place', and finally found peace.

Isn't it sad, Susan?  No one should ever feel that no one cares or understands.

She had so much to offer life.

But for those who still feel lost I am here and so is Rush...Whenever I feel lost or sad, I play Rush...Geddy's voice soothing and sweet to listen to and they all take to places that I wished I was seeing and feel. So, how about you gals, where does Rush music takes you?

Unfortunately, it is.

Our area has more than its share of suicides.  Reading comments under the stories when people ask why doesn't the person call the Suicide Hotline, I find out that many do only to get put on hold when they call. One person was left on hold for 20 minutes they said.  Can you imagine being so at the end of your rope that you make one last effort to reach out to someone - anyone - only to be put on hold when you call?????

seems anti-thetical to the idea of a hotline.  :(

They said the need is too great and the volunteers to man the phones too few.

People just need someone to talk to.  A listening heart is all they need.

Yeah she had a heart of gold yet she hated me, oh such a gold heart...

Only you could take a thread like this and make it about you.

There are times to say such things, and times where it's really inappropriate. Considering the turn this thread has taken, you were really inappropriate there. Learn to read the situation before you post about other people. Or, even easier, if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all.

Why should I care about someone who hated me?? It is sad that she passed away yes, but she hated me, as do most Rush fans in general.

What an utterly bizarre thing to type on a message board.

I am not the type of person who goes off when someone has died, but in this case, i must. For someone to come in here and say mean things about sweet GedsJeans is sickening. If she have hurt one of you, then, I am sorry. But it is sad to sink to that level and say that she was mean is unthinkable even going so far as to say that some of us are mean, if you push our buttons, then yeah, we can get mean if you bashed of us on here with petty comments. So not all of us ARE mean, just sweet and friendly. It is sad that GedsJean is no longer here to defend herself. But it is why we must lean on each other for support. It is what she and Geddy, Alex and Neil would want.

"All of the seasons and all of the days
All of the reasons why I've felt this way
So long, so long

Then lost in that feeling I looked in your eyes
I noticed emotion and that you had cried
For me I can see

What would touch me deeper
Tears that fall from eyes that only cry
Would it touch you deeper
Than tears that fall from eyes that know why

A lifetime of questions, tears on your cheek
I tasted the answers and my body was weak
For you the truth

What would touch me deeper
Tears that fall from eyes that only cry
Would it touch you deeper
Than tears that fall from eyes that know why"
