I made an account yesterday to post some of my novel up on it.

Fantastic site

I just discovered this site by accident a few weeks ago - I've been looking for a site like this - the literary version of rateyourmusic - truly excellent site! :ebert:

I've never heard of this site before. I just signed up and noticed that they have prerelease book giveaways so I entered in a bunch of them. Apparently if you win a book and review it, your chances of winning additional books increases. Its a pretty cool concept.

I agree to that...5 stars is very vague.  It should be a scale of 1-10.  You can't even do half stars.

I'm there on the Goodreads.but lately I keep forgetting to update it when I read something new. I don't like the rating thing either. 5 stars is not a wide enough span to rate something as many faceted as a written work.

I'm on the site as well, but I haven't visited really at all since I stopped constantly reading novels a little over a year ago. As it turns out, I've just recently started reading novels constantly again, but just revisiting things I've already read. So nothing new to post there, as yet.

I don't remember what the handle on my account is there; I should revisit just to figure that out...

I love Goodreads, find lots of good things on the site and constantly adding to my To Be Read pile, or as my friend calls it Mt. TBR :LOLsign:

I'm so cheap these days that I download free e-book samples just to get an idea of what's in the book. Also, I no longer rely on other people's increasingly subjective reviews. I figure that, unless it's a classic or it's won some huge award, the book is just going to take up space on my shelf.

I am on there. I browse a few group forums daily but rarely post. I do keep my current reads and such updated though.
