Today I scored big time. A great day to get some true essentials of classic rock for real cheap! All on vinyl.

Sweet - Desolation Boulevard

Aerosmith - Live! Bootleg

Heart - Dreamboat Annie

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A.

(And now the biggies)

Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed ($12, great condition)

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ($10!! Practically perfect condition for the vinyl, sleeve has some wear but not much, original cardboard cutouts included, no indication of it being a reissue that I can tell. Printed in the USA, stereo, no loop thing at the end though...)

Passed up a few other goodies for all of these gems.

I went to the record store today and got the following stuff on vinyl records:

Peter Gabriel - So (original pressing!)

Peter Gabriel - first album (original pressing!)

Ozzy Osbourne - Ozzy Live

Opeth - Sorceress (the box set, both vinyl records colored ones, and CDs, with bonus tracks and 5.1 dvd, + a awesome poster!)

I cant wait to hear these albums! But first Im gonna clean them!

Avenged Sevenfold - The Stage

Great metal band....top of their game. Great concept album. Heavy and in your face rip roaring dual guitar riffage.

Agreed. Especially after 2 of their last 3 albums have been disappointing, this was a nice surprise.

Haven't bought music in awhile so I figured I'd go a bit crazy with some harsh, noise, *insert any applicable word*-core music this Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend...

Nails & Full of Hell - 7" Split (vinyl)

SUMAC - Before You I Appear (vinyl)

Converge - Jane Doe (vinyl)

And being that I saw ENDON w/Mutoid Man and Summoner on Saturday, I couldn't leave without some ENDON releases that are Japanese/tour only...Summoner was a pretty cool local band from Boston too and for $5 for their CD, why not?

ENDON - BODIES

ENDON - MAMA In Concert

Summoner - Atlantean

Isis (the band) - Wavering Radiant (vinyl) (Finally!)

And I went to Rough Trade NYC while Christmas shopping...and while I was there to get protective outer sleeves for my vinyls, I got adventurous and picked up something I've never heard before but have faith that I'm gonna like it based on its description...and it's limited to 300 copies:

Nadja - Queller (vinyl)

For Christmas:

Rush - 2112 delux box set

Queen - On Air 6 CD set

Freddie Mercury- Messenger Of The Gods: The Singles Collection on double CD

30 bucks to spend at the records store

I have so far only listened through the Mercury CD's. He is just magic, whether it's cheesy eighties dance tracks, mixing gospel and opera, or covering songs under a pseudonym. His voice is the essence of music, pure and unbridled, unlimited imagination, a conduit through which the divine enters our ears. There was no better, and there never will be.

Revolver - The Beatles

"Yellow Ledbetter" - Pearl Jam

from iTunes, cuz this is the third week in a row The Beatles albums have been marked down to 8 bucks a pop (a steal, essentially), and I could resist finally owning Revolver no longer. Too high a chance it goes back up again come Friday.
