Spagnuolo is out in NO...

Wow there's been deep debate on this one, some people swore blind that he deserved another year, especially with all the bounty suspensions making things difficult, and the rest thought he should be gone after unleashing the worst defense in NFL and probably football history! And a player came out and dissed him! There's been a rumour we're going to a 3-4, Spags is a 4-3 guy all the way so it was in the air...

I'm happy to get rid of the guy. It's possible his reputation has been built entirely on the back of a great Giants D-line. I wonder who we'll get instead? Romeo Crennel?

Nicely done, but Sean did say yesterday he won't be talking to Gregg...

New Orleans Welcomes The Super Bowl With A “Roger Goodell Being Eaten By A Giant Vagina” Float

Barry Petchesky

The Krewe du Vieux is one of the first parades on the Carnival calendar, and surely the most explicit. The Times-Picayune says it "aims for eyebrow-raising, low-brow amusement and often hits the mark with its rude designs and naughty details." But topicality is important, and with Roger Goodell coming to town for the Super Bowl in two weeks, nothing's more topical than welcoming the commissioner to New Orleans.

There were multiple Goodell-themed floats (here's Rog f***ing a barnyard animal), but the grand prize has to go to the one you see above. That would be, as a float co-captain described, Goodell falling prey to "a giant, man-eating vagina that is getting its revenge."

Roger Goodell says New Orleans Saints will not get second round pick back in 2013

By Terrance Harris, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune

on January 28, 2013 at 1:31 PM, updated January 28, 2013 at 2:12 PM Print

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has made several concessions in the New Orleans Saints bounty penalties, but giving the team back its second round pick in this year's NFL draft won't be among them.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told an online audience Monday that the NFL is not going to restore the second-round pick that was taken away from the Saints.

Michael DeMocker, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune archive

During a wide-ranging Q&A session with fans on Reddit.com on Monday, Goodell was asked if there was any chance of the team getting back the pick.

Goodell replied: "No, the penalty will continue to include the 2nd round draft choice in 2013."

That is the first time Goodell has given a definite answer on whether he would give back the second-round pick.

Roger Goodell not welcome at several New Orleans bars

Posted by Curtis Crabtree on January 28, 2013, 5:54 PM EST

AP

Despite an appeal from Saints head coach Sean Payton to give commissioner Roger Goodell a warm welcome, the city of New Orleans is still holding a grudge over Bountygate.

According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, at least one local bar is taking an active role in expressing their displeasure of Goodell. “The Jimani,” a small bar located near the team hotel for the San Francisco 49ers, will not serve Goodell if he happens to wander into their establishment.

They have a photo of Goodell posted behind their bar with a message saying “Do not serve this man.”

They are far from the only place of business in New Orleans where Goodell isn’t welcome. Finn McCool’s Pub and the Parkview Tavern (pictured) also have displays disparaging Goodell.
