Great interview. Alice Cooper, along with the late Ronnie James Dio are easily the most likeable people in the rock/metal world.

Good call!

Yeah, I understood you fine with your first post. No need for you to be an asshole about it. My point is the 70s was the most represented era of his career at the show so there isn't really anything for you to complain about. If you want to see him do more songs from that time then see him solo, the 70s material is always the bulk of his set.

Since you're a metal fan I find it hard to believe you wouldn't like Brutal Planet or Dragontown. Have you ever heard The Last Temptation? That album is very good and just a notch or two below his best stuff from the 70s.

nah havent heard any of his albums after hey stoopid, I figured they just got worse and worse

and I didnt like the newer shit he played

oh well! :madra:

Well, Hey Stoopid came out over 20 years ago. You should really check out the stuff that came after, then you can say weather you think his 70s stuff is the only good material he has. He didn't play anything that new when he opened for Maiden. He played two songs off Brutal Planet which came out in 2000 and that was the most recent material he played that tour. He's released five more albums since then. If you're gonna criticize his post 70s stuff you should at least hear it first before making any comments about not liking it.

You know what shows how good of a songwriter Alice is? He wrote and recorded the album DaDa while he was completely blackout drunk and he still came out with an album as good as that. Now I know he doesn't remember any of the songs because of how bad his alcohol comsumption was at that time, but he still made a really good album in spite of that.

Wow, good for you...it should be a great show.

I just upgraded from 5th to front row for Beacon Theatre in NYC.

Ryan Roxie will be touring with him, I'm happy to see that, as he is a great guitar player and performer.

Looks like Alice, Ryan Roxie (Guitar), Orianthi (Guitar), Tommy Henriksen (Guitar), Chuck Garric (Bass) and Glen Sobel (Drums).

Enjoy your show J2112YYZ!

In the UK, our D.A.B. radio station Planet Rock has Alice DJing on Nights With Alice Cooper. :ebert:

Nights With Alice Cooper" is a great show. He plays great muric, that's for sure. I heard him play "Temple if Syrinx" the other day. You gotta love that. And, as someone has mentioned in an earlier post, he really does tell the best stories about music, musicians and his experiences in the music industry.

New Alice cooper documentary on the way!

"Super Duper Alice Cooper", the upcoming documentary about the shock rocker's evolution from preacher's son to superstardom, is currently being screened for programmers at the Toronto International Film Festival. The 97-minute retrospective on Alice Cooper is the latest release from Canadian documentarians Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen of production company Banger Films ("Metal: A Headbangers Journey", "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage") and writer/director Reginald Harkema.

Official "Super Duper Alice Cooper" description: "Preacher's son Vincent Furnier struck fear into the hearts of parents as Alice Cooper, the ultimate rock star of the bizarre. From his advent as frontman for a group from Phoenix in the Sixties, to the notorious celebrity and decadence in the Seventies, to the comeback as glam metal godfather in the Eighties, we watch as Alice and Vincent battle for each other’s souls. This is a young Frankenstein who created a monster, lost control of it, and conquered it before it killed him. Alice Cooper is portrayed as a reflection of his fans' unease about the era and an escape from their generational malaise. His struggle revolved around living up to these expectations and being true to himself."

In a 2012 interview with Spinner.com, Dunn stated about the Cooper documentary, "We know Alice through various projects that we've done," he said. "We interviewed Alice for 'Headbanger's Journey'. He's also featured pretty prominently in two episodes of [the new groundbreaking documentary series] 'Metal Evolution', both in [the] Shock Rock and Early Metal U.S. [episodes]. He's a pretty fascinating character, who has been through a lot in his life. He's one of those musicians that maybe he hasn't had a hit in a long time, but everyone knows who Alice Cooper is because of his influence on pop culture and the big songs he had in the '70s. . . We're in the early stages of telling the story of his career. We're probably going to focus in on his early years up to his comeback in the '80s. We're exploring a different stylist approach with this film. It won't be talking heads; it's going to be more of an archival and animated journey through his career. He's such a rich visual artist, it makes so much sense to try and do it in a different way. I think we're just a little bit sick of doing talking head interviews, to be honest [laughs], after doing 300 of them for 'Metal Evolution'. So it's really the story of Alice's career from the '60s right up to the '80s and everything he went through — the ups and the downs, battles with alcoholism, being raised in a Christian family, rebelling against that but then coming back to faith later in his career, and movinALICE COOPER: 'Super Duper' Documentary Screened For Toronto Film Festival Programmers - June 5, 2013
