I remember one of my friends trying to convince me that anything System of a Down song is better than 2112, I think we can agree he's completely wrong...

It can only be 2112. The band's signature piece.

The title track... It is how Rush became able to say that "they had assumed control"

Agreed. Also it was one of the first songs of theirs that I heard.

It IS, and it will always be 2112...however, my vote went to Twilight—just because i'm a huge 'Zone fan, and when i was a kid, i couldn't believe a band had written a song about it!  =)    RushOn!

2112.

Love Something For Nothing .
A verse was written in a birthday card when I was 21 .
And then the penny dropped of what a brilliant lyricist Neil is .

What you own is your own kingdom
What you do is your own glory
What you love is your own power
What you live is your own story
In your head is the answer
Let it guide you along
Let your heart be the anchor
And the beat of your own song

2112 was the first rock song I ever really listened to. My dad gave me a copy of his 2112 CD when I was in 4th grade and I loved it. It's what made me want to play the guitar. I also liked Twilight Zone, but the whispers in the last chorus scared me  :outtahere:

I don't listen to 2112 as much now because I prefer A Farewell to Kings to Signals (and Clockwork Angels).

"2112" suite.....the climax ( we have assumed control ) still makes the back of my neck tingle after 30 years of listening to it.

I voted for 2112. I find the Soliloquy segment absolutely heartbreaking. Everything is spot on, and is both bery much of its time, and yet strangely timeless!

For me, the title suite. It is also my second favorite song overall. I also love "Tears"- the mysterious aura of it is so clutching but relaxing- I can't describe it. It's eerily tranquil.

This is almost like asking what the best scene from "My Dinner With Andre" was. (The dinner scene, of course!)
