And so people don't kill me:
John Bonham

It's true...as I am totally sick of Zeppelin nowadays, I would not be inclined to put Bonham on, but if I didn't everyone would jump on my back immediately about leaving him out.

I agree. I like Zeppelin's music, but the constant talk about Bonham is getting old. Yes he is a good drummer, but he's not the best out there.

Thing I don't like about Bonham is he so obviously ripped off Moon.

Find your own sloppy drunken style, Bonham (and may you RIP)!

Hey Kazz, are you familiar with metal drummer Derek Roddy at all?

I've heard of him, but haven't heard anything from him to my knowledge. I probably have though, but didn't know it was him.

Well, he's a renowned Death Metal drummer... he plays his blast beats with one foot, which is pretty awesome, in my opinion. He's also known as "one-take Roddy", because he can usually do session work in a very short amount of time.

He was on a Nile album... I can't remember which one. He's also playing on Ron Jarzombek's new instrumental Death Metal project "Machinations of Dementia". Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse) is playing bass.

Ok, I know who you're talking about now.

Have you heard Nile's current drummer? George Kollias?

Not as good as Roddy, but the guy's got some speed behind him.

Now I need to train myself to play blast beats with one foot...
