Black Panther (7/10)

I know this film has been super hyped, but I thought it was just ok in places.

Avengers: Infinity War (10/10)

Nothing could have prepared me for this. Not even the 17 previous movies. Wow.

It's as close to a perfect (superhero) film as one can get.

The musical score put it over the top for me. Best score since the original Star Wars trilogy.

On blu-ray combo packs, I watched "Star Wars: Episode VII - the Force Awakens", and "Star Wars: Episode VIII - the Last Jedi".

I caught Spidermn: Into the Spiderverse with the Lad. I really enjoyed it.

Did you know one of the characters is the creation of the lead singer of My Chemical Romance

This movie pisses me off the more I think about it.

Having Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel without the original version of Captain Marvel is like having She-Hulk without acknowledging The Hulk.

Though they did have Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel in the comics, they sex-changed the character for the movie and made HIM into Annette Bening?! And essentially powerless?! Walter Lawson became Wendy Lawson?! Stupid. That whole set up is like changing Bruce Banner into Belinda Banner, having NO Hulk, and going straight into She-Hulk except calling her Hulk.

Starting the film countdown to Endgame!

2008 gave us the start of a magnificent film series.

12JUKkDm.jpg The Dirt- Motley Crue biopic. It is new on Netflix. It's based on their book, and has just as many allusions to all of their gross stuff. On the other hand, it was very entertaining and the actors somehow made the band members (especially Vince Neil, for me) more likable than the real guys. (I never got why supposedly women threw themselves at him . . . :P)

MCU is currently holding a 15-6 record with me. That is pretty good of course but there is room for a lot of improvement. When the MCU is at their best they are hitting grand slams like Infinity War, Civil War, and Avengers 1.

Given the way film studios are set on cranking out films as fast as possible and making as much money as possible, Marvel Films has done an extraordinary job of making consistently good films. Most other studios would be lucky to have a 50% success rate.

Hereditary, which I would give 7/10. Turned out to be a fairly routine horror, with some cheap scares - but just enough mild surprises early on to stop my usual film-watching bad habit (switching off before the film has had a fair chance to impress me).
