what kind of file?

doesnt matter

Of course it matters. Are you talking about photos? Songs? PDF files? They're all handled in different ways on a message board.

For pictures (well, for anything really), you need to upload them somewhere else and then reference them in code. So, if I wanted to post a picture from my site, like my logo, I'd type:

[img=http://qaqn.com/images/qaqn-logo.png]

and that would produce:

http://qaqn.com/images/qaqn-logo.png

I just love your logo - looks great! How did you create it, exactly?

Thanks!

I did it in Adobe Illustrator first, for the outlines, then brought it into Photoshop for the coloring and shading. I've always been more comfortable in PS, so I only ever use AI when I need to outline something. The letters are some font that I don't recall, tweaked a little bit. The big Q on the end began as an actual Q but I altered it to make it look more like a headset. Being a podcaster, I thought that would play into what I do.

That means you're doing it wrong. You're copying the wrong link.

In PB, hover your mouse over the pic you want to post. A box will appear with (I think) four different links. One of them will be an IMG link (it already had the IMG code attached to it -- no need to add it on here). Copy that link, then paste it into your post. Done.

Click on the box to the right of where it says IMG code. it should automatically copy the link. Then, all you have to do is paste it into the post box.
