goose
Zenyatta is my favorite overall, but I think they went out at peak form with Sychronicity. Certainly their most mature and developed songwriting and playing. Don't understand all the love for Ghost, which is easily my least favorite album.
Silas Lang
QUOTE (goose @ Aug 4 2011, 11:41 PM)Don't understand all the love for Ghost, which is easily my least favorite album. Yea it always struck me as the weakest as well (Invisible Sun is great though). All the others are damn good, none really stands out as being clearly superior. Don't think I can pick one here. circumstantial tree
I have "Every Breath You Take" the single. I prefer the flip side tune on it called "Murder By Numbers". Don't know if that was an "extra" not available on an album or not though. It makes me think of "Digital Man".
Unattractive Truth
QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Aug 5 2011, 06:29 AM) I have "Every Breath You Take" the single. I prefer the flip side tune on it called "Murder By Numbers". Don't know if that was an "extra" not available on an album or not though. It makes me think of "Digital Man". It was a bonus track on the Synchronicity cassette. As for the love for Ghost in the Machine, well...to each his/her own. I thought that album was incredible. Great tour as well. circumstantial tree
One of these days I will go out and get some Police. Funny, but I remember when their first album came out due to a magazine article. I got the magazine because of my interest in KISS at the time, and there was mention of a new band called the Police. I was always amused that "Murder by Numbers" was left off the album, yet "Mother" made the cut. As I recall, Synchronicity was one of the first cassettes released on higher quality metal tape, and the inclusion of the bonus track was a selling point. Great track, with a very clever intro by Stewart.

RUSHHEAD666
ZENYATTA!!! "Ghost In The Machine" is winning???? I must be on crack and Jack. "Ghost" is one of the most boring albums in the world. "Invisible Sun" puts me in a coma. Wow! This thread has made me become "Driven To Tears."
RUSHHEAD666
This is a close one for me as they had some great tracks on each album - Zenyatt Mondatta was the First Police album I bought when it came out. That album has memories.. <!--emo&B)--><img src='http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cool.gif' /><!--endemo--> One of the greatest albums in the world. I have no idea why "Ghost" is winning. "Demolition Man" is crap. The album is more commercial than "Synchronicity." Signed, "Everything She Does Is Tragic"

Rick N. Backer
I saw them on the Synchronicity tour at Sullivan Stadium (where the Patriots used to play) and again in 2007 at Fenway Park. I love these guys. BTW. side 1 of GITM is about as perfect an album side as you can get. Right up there with side 1 of Moving Pictures to be honest.
Lorraine
I have always loved them. I remember one time I was in a store in the early eighties. There was a man waiting in line with me. The man behind him was a bit too close for his comfort. He turned around and screamed at the guy "Don't stand so close to me!!!" I tried not to laugh out loud, but it became harder and harder. That was right after the album came out and the song was being played every hour on the hour on the FM stations.
Narps
Not really a fan. They were all over FM in the day but I could take or leave them to be honest....
