i just hope this album isn't to artsy fartsy. don't want to hear sound track stuff. don't want him to try to pull off jazz stuff with jazz musicians.

gary husband is going on tour with him. that should be fun. try holding that guy back behind the drum kit. gavin is great but gary is just incredible.

I think you will be disappointed. He said there's going to be a mix of everything, including jazz and soundtrack-like stuff.

Also, isn't Gary Husband playing keys? I know that he plays both drums and keys, but Steven said that Marco Minneman will be playing drums on the tour.

that's right gary on keys. marco is just as insane. what a great cast of musicians to have on tour with you. all amazing players. even if i don't dig the music i want to see these guys go off somewhat. even if it's just for one song. gonna catch them in philly. i'm surprised he has gary on keys. gary has been doing so many different things over on the other side of the pond. incredible musician and then some.

I can definitely see Steven and Lasse Hoile's love of surrealist films, art cinema, and obscure films influenced this music video....probably that's the reason why the video's "creepy".

From my understanding, Steven's favorite filmmaker is David Lynch, and if you ever seen some of his work like Eraserhead, that same element of creepy is used in surrealist cinema. Steven tried to make a surrealist film based on the songs from Deadwing, but he scrapped that idea.

Well, I got lucky and got to hear the album today with a friend in the music business.

All I can say is....wow.

I've read comments around the interwebs about SW spreading himself out too thin with being so busy, thus resulting in weaker material across the board.

This album will make them all eat crow. He's outdone himself. The songs and musicianship are top notch. That's all I'll say, except for this: I think I've tortured myself so much because waiting until the end of the month to get my vinyl and hear this again will feel like a lifetime.

Album of the year, mark my words.

Seriously, where's the excitement for this album?

Apparently, it's "out" there now, but I'm waiting until it's actually out. SW posted part of the 23-minute 'Raider II' on the Grace For Drowning website, but I haven't listened to that either.

Apparently some people got theirs already, but I don't think Newbury Comics shipped mine yet. I can't wait! This is going to be epic. yes.gif Raider II is the song I'm looking forward to the most, so I'm not going to listen to a sample from it.

SW said that this is his first album of new material since the incident. I'm sure he spent a lot of time making this album as perfect as possible. If its half as good as Insurgentes it will be my album of the year.

I got my email from Burning Shed today saying it's been shipped. Hopefully, it won't take too long.

Wow Sully! We are connected.

I got my email from Burning Shed today as well.

I have two limited hardbound book versions on the way!

I finally was smart and ordered them from Burning Shed rather than paying stupid eBay prices.

Ended up not preordering. Pink Floyd box sorta took importance over this since, as I believe, the new SW album was still a rumor back in May (when the PF box was announced). I will be buying his new album though, on vinyl and CD. Wilson is one of the artists I really consider to be worth my money.

Amazing album. He's outdone himself yet again. And to think I saw discussions around the internet that he'd spread himself too thin with all the projects. But one listen of this masterpiece will put that theory too bed, and Steven should be proud of what he's done here.
