go2wrk@95974
I personally dig this song alot. If you listen closely to the words, especially the 1st verse, it describes in perfect detail the 12-26-04 Indonesian Earthquake and tsunami, I believe. The song was on the VT album/cd, so it was written atleast before 2002. Imo, a VERY prophetic song.,Neil Peart is a genius lyricist, no question.
Show Don't Tell
I love Sweet Miracle. It seems to get a lot of negative responses on here, which I never understood. It's a great tune; one of my favourites from Vapor Trails.

Mr. Not
Like many songs on VT, it's lacking something. Here, it's a good chorus to back up the mellow, yet dramatic and meaningful verses. I think the 'perfect' songs of VT are Peaceable Kingdom, Ceiling Unlimited (Geddy's Bass solo!!!) and Freeze.

Tick
Great song from a great album. A much better album they people give Rush credit for.
Gompers
QUOTE I wasn't walking on water I was standing on a reef When the tide came in Swept beneath the surface Lost without a trace No hope at all No hope at all Oh sweet miracle Oh sweet miracle Of life I wasn't walking with angels I was talking to myself Rising up to the surface Raging against the night Starless night Oh sweet miracle Love's sweet miracle Oh sweet miracle Of life I wasn't praying for magic I was hiding in plain sight Rising up from the surface To fly into the light Listening to it right now. It's OK at best but I find it filler more than anything because it seems to lack passion. Real let down in vocal execution after a great intro riff. Lacks punch and almost whiny. Not crazy about the simple poplike chorus, even though that great Alex riff returns.

ST3V
A weaker, less memorable song from Vapor Trails but I do enjoy it whenever it comes on
goose
One of the best off Vapor Trails, featuring some of Neil's most personal writing. That's a big appeal of Vapor Trails as an album in general for me, the raw emotion.
jnoble
Its OK but by that point in the album Neil was just lyrically repeating what was already expressed on earlier songs like Secret Touch. I never listen to it
HemiBeers
like it. especially alex's tone in the bridge.
