I love most of the songs on this album, but Rivendell has always held a special place in my heart for a couple of reasons....

1. It seems like it was almost written for my family farm in NH...which is Home to me smile.gif

2. After my sis got bit by a dog, her ability to play the guitar waned much. She has surgery done, and by that time Father's Day was coming around....she and I worked on it, she learned the guitar part, I learned the words....and we played it for him...and he cried tears of joy, because he was so happy to see his eldest daughter playing the instrument he (and we all) love SO much.

3. (Like Phoenix) I am a big Tolkein fan, and have loved that song since the first time I heard it smile.gif Still think it should have been in The Fellowship wink.gif

So there you have it, my many reasons for loving the song Rivendell smile.gif

I voted for Anthem. But, I'm sad to see no votes for Making Memories. It remains, year over year, such a great song.

This was an easy choice by-tor by far loved the whole album but being a bass player growing up that had to be my choice the bass solo rocked in this song definatly the best bass work geddy ever did glad to see them add it to the later tours

Even though the title cut was written where I grew up. Lansing, Michigan.

There was something about "In The End" that just made it such a great tune. AlexFinal.gif

Tough choice narrowed it down to By-Tor and Beneath, Between And Behind

Had to go with the latter..........................

The guns replace the plow, facades are tarnished now

The principles have been betrayed

The dreams's gone stale, but still, let hope prevail

History's debt won't be repaid
