blackhawkrush
QUOTE (Babycat @ May 2 2011, 04:53 PM) Sorry, I think I must be the only one who totally hates sushi - just seeing it makes me feel green... Tried a bite once...had to spit it out.

thesweetscience
QUOTE (KW84 @ May 2 2011, 07:54 PM) I would love to try sushi, but I'm afraid to because I heard that's it is served raw and because I have never had food poisoning. It looks good though. Some of it is raw and some isn't. If the fish is fresh it wont make you sick. If it isn't fresh you will know right away. I have been eating it for years and have never had a problem.
Tick
I went to an all you can eat Sushi restaurant with my wife and daughter last Saturday night. It was 19.99 per adult, and 10.99 for my daughter. It was awesome! They had sushi, but also soups including udon noodles, plus tempura, and other non sushi dishes. I ate a lot of great stuff that night I had never tried. Next time I go I will try eel as well! I wish I had a bigger appetite because I got full before I wanted to.

1 of the 7
I love the rolls. Not so crazy about the non-rolled kind. The one time I had octopus was actually in a Middle Eastern restaurant, and it was larger and cooked (the sushi kind is raw, correct)? I liked it the way I had it. Good, bad, andrush
QUOTE (barney_rebel @ May 2 2011, 01:29 PM) No eel for you guys? That shit is the best. Hands down the best and jellyfish is pretty good, as is octopus...don't get what the big deal is. But eel is one of my all time favorite foods. Over here though, we have the best fried sushi. I know it's not real sushi at all. But trust me; we have the real deal and mexican sushi. It's not like other fried sushi; that stuff is it has a really unique flavor to it and it's hardly sushi at all but down here it is very good when compared to places up north that make fried sushi. But the real stuff is prime and the best. And I'm not a homophobe or anything, and I do love sushi...but if you think about it is a pretty gay meal
JohnnyBlaze
It's okay, tried it once or twice. j/k...obviously, given where I am, I eat all the damn time. As barney said, eel is the shit.

HowItIs
Sushi is one of the foods I used to think I'd never eat let alone enjoy. USED TO... I finally tried some made with fresh fish (very important) and that was it for me! I loved it Ahi of any kind is my favorite, but especially toro (tuna belly). Not always available but be sure to ask if it is. OMG it's sooooooooooooooooo good! I also love tako (octopus), salmon (only like it raw), shrimp (yes it is cooked) and mackerel. The best I ever had was at Nobu which was, naturally, also the most expensive. Though I have had some in Hawai'i that was as good -- well, the ahi is REALLY fresh there, so... garbo
I never got the whole "I would kill for sushi" thing... and then I had sushi and I was like "this is pretty tasty. nom nom nom." Then I had it again... and again... and now... I get it. Yes, I would kill for sushi. MMM, DELICIOUS SUSHI. If I can't go a few days without sushi, I go get a vegetarian roll, which is delicious, otherwise there are a few nice sushi bars. What sucks? I'm allergic to shellfish (I even got myself retested just to make sure, and yep, still allergic) so I can only get tuna rolls, dynamite rolls, Philadelphia rolls, certain speciality rolls, etc. Oh well. Now I'm craving sushi...
