anthem74
You can never go wrong with U.S.B.M. titans like Xasthur and Leviathan. Leviathan's Scar Sighted was probably the most anticipated bm release in some time and Jef Whitehead a.k.a. Wrest produced a mammoth album. Really, just about anything Leviathan put out over the years is nothing short of amazing, especially when you take into consideration that it's just one man creating this range of sounds and crazy passages. Xasthur, the one man project like Leviathan, has produced an extensive library of deep, disturbing and sometimes nightmarish music. A lot of bm music comes from bad places anyway. Scott Conner a.k.a. Malefic hit a jackpot with his Telepathic With the Deceased, a personal favorite. A very pained album. Scott has shunned and quit black metal and has since shifted musical gears, playing very doomy acoustic music with lots of finger picking. That project was called Nocturnal Poisoning, a nod to Xasthur's debut full length but Scott has recently brought the Xasthur name back minus the black metal. I love the bm genre, it's pretty diverse and there's so much unknown music out there that the real fun lies in hunting out the obscure acts. Nice to see fans of black metal here. anthem74
Anaal Nathrakh was scheduled to play Vegas a few nights ago and then they were cancelled on the day of show. Lack of presold tickets was the reason which sucks because lots of folks buy tickets day of here in Vegas. :( Edited May 18, 2015 by anthem74
