That One Guy
Sure, a whole new setlist for leg 2 of The Time Machine Tour would be sweet, but it's not gonna happen. Seeing as five or so songs were swapped between legs of Snakes And Arrows Tour, that seems likely. So, what songs do you think will be replaced? I'm gonna go... Swap x for x Faithless for a third Clockwork Angels song Presto for A Farewell To Kings Leave That Thing Alone for The Main Monkey Business Stick It Out for Ghost Of A Chance Far Cry for Natural Science Add In The Mood to the encore done and done
Oracle
Time Stand Still for Force Ten Stick It Out for Natural Science Freewill for Nobody's Hero Malignant Narcissism" between Caravan and Neil's solo. CMWriter
QUOTE (metaldad @ Jan 10 2011, 08:33 AM) Get rid of the S&A songs ...Or choose better ones. =| I like Snakes and Arrows, but they really could've picked better songs. I think "Spindrift" is neat. Surely there's a song from S&A better than "Faithless"... Which is okay, but I think it's very "meh" especially for a concert. I'd swap "Faithless" for "Nobody's Hero".. maybe. I would probably be sobbing the whole time though. (Luckily I always have Kleenexes in my purse.) Well they got the whole "Atheist Trilogy" going on with BU2B, Faithless and Freewill...they couldn't beat us over the head with ideology if they switched out Faithless for something....something....something actually good. A&S is a much better song and pretty much says the same thing (much like all of S&A) so I'd rather hear it than Faithless.
USB Connector
QUOTE (metaldad @ Jan 10 2011, 09:33 AM) Get rid of the S&A songs +1 But I thought Far Cry was cool to end the show with. That's probably the only song I like on the album.

Mark_L
I predict the most likely scenario being no changes from the 1st leg... nothing added/dropped/switched out - same show.
Todem
The only songs IMO that have a shot at being dropped are: Presto Stick it Out I think they keep everything else. So I hope they replace those 2 songs with any of these 4 songs: The Analog Kid Distant Early Warning Mission Manhatten Project

greg2112
My take: Jacob's Ladder will definitely be in the 2nd leg setlist. They will also add a new CA song, likely replacing either Stick it Out or Faithless. Then there's very slight chance theres another swap-out but dont hold your breath. Not enough to get me to drop more dough for a second time this tour. Looking forward to the full CA tour (hopefully indoors) in 2012!
thing2jordan
I just hope they swap out Faithless. Come on, Neil! After several songs and rants on the subject, you are no longer "quietly resist"-ing, but loudly whining.
amish_ashaman
I don't really think they'll change anything, but if they do, Stick It Out seems the likeliest candidate. If I could make a couple of changes, I'd start with getting Far Cry out of the closing spot. I like bands to close strong, with classics that everyone knows and loves. It would be fine with me if they just played a little more of 2112 and closed with that. They could move Far Cry to the encore, or swap it with Subdivisions. I'd also get rid of Stick It Out, Faithless and Closer to the Heart, although I did like the new arrangement for CTTH. I'd prefer to hear The Trees or Circumstances instead. Hemispheres89
QUOTE (Todem @ Jan 11 2011, 10:58 AM) The only songs IMO that have a shot at being dropped are: Presto Stick it Out hmmm, really? In my opinion, the two songs that could be dropped would have to be: Leave That Thing Alone Faithless ..because they are two songs that aren't necessarily "gems" in my eyes, but are just a couple songs tucked in for good measure. In my eyes, they can easily be replaced. Presto and Stick it Out, on the other hand, are both gems that I think the band made a point of emphasizing strictly for this tour's purpose... if you get what I'm trying to say there. haha (may sound confusing) That's just my take! GuitarPlyr01
I'll be realistic about it based on what they've done in the past: Natural Science (at the end of MP, before Caravan. CTTH comes out for all the N.A. shows) Distant Early Warning for Presto The Trees for Faithless I, personally, would like to see Nobody's Hero get played. Maybe put Dreamline back in. But it won't happen.
ALifeson85
I'm sure i mentioned this before... *Drop Faithless, and put Jacob's Ladder after as the closing song of the first set. *Replace Time Stand Still with Analog Kid *Replace Closer To The Heart with The Trees *Replace 2112 with Xanadu The setlist would look like: The Spirit if Radio Analog Kid Presto Stick It Out Workin' Them Angels Leave That Thing Alone! BU2B Freewill Marathon Subdivisions Jacob's Ladder -Intermission- Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta YYZ Limelight The Camera Eye Witch Hunt Vital Signs Caravan Drum Solo Broone's Bane / The Trees Xanadu Closer To The Heart -Encore- La Villa Strangiato (complete w/ original intro) Working Man (w/out the Reggae intro) Seriously - if that ended up being the updated setlist, everyone here would go totally apesh*t I SURE WOULD! quickfree
I think they'll keep all the songs with key film themes with the Time Machine show that have years before them in the video to give audiences who didn't see it last year the full experience. Stick it Out will probably also stay since Geddy says its a favorite of his. "But then again all my songs are favorites." Workin' Them Angels I can see as the only one realistically leaving for a similar length song for one of the usual standards or a rarity like Middletown Dreams. LeaveMyThingAlone
They boys have been very clear that this is simply a continuation of the same tour. While it's fun to speculate and fantisize about this stuff, the idea is to bring the same tour that was so successfl to those people that didnt get to see it. I say we'll be lucky to get 1 change...2 tops but unlikely since it's the same tour. They dont want to go in and change the video/pyro.lighting, etc which they'd have to do with too many changes
