probably junkfood. last night it was a smoothie and fries from McDonald's. when you're volunteering to work at theater productions, decent meals don't exist.

Its that time for some comfort food,

Slow cooked Pot Roast with assorted veggies.

It's a highlight of fall!

I love all things comfort food. Oct-Dec is this foodie's dream. I roasted a big ole pork butt (so fun to say!) in a Dr. Pepper and brown sugar mixture for 7 hours yesterday. The house smelled so good. Tomorrow night I'm doing a beef roast and making a pot pie with the meat, adding carrots, onions and potatoes.

My treadmill and gym membership are coming in quite handy right now.

Tonight my oldest chose the dinner. He was looking through one of my Cooks Illustrated magazines and asked me to make Mahogany Chicken Thighs. He requested them to be served with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. He likes to help me in the kitchen and even has his own apron. Too cute for words.'

All though I didn't marinade the roast as long as I would have liked,

It turned out so tender and delicious! :D
