Trying something new.

2 chicken breasts

A bottle of Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy

A bunch of seasonings

Probably way too much garlic

Marinated overnight

Oven for ~25 minutes

Stay tuned...

It was excellent. I'm doing that again.

Main event: Sweet & sour chicken mixed with carrots, green peppers, pineapples, and onions.

Supporting crew: steamed rice + broccoli.

Epilogue: chocolate milk and apple pie.

And we made slow cooked sweet & sour pork.

Korean barbecue at my favorite BBQ place + a few beers & a couple of highballs.

Not my dinner but pretty much what 50% of the cuts looked like (others were thicker & juicier):

One of the side dishes [again, not my actual pic], chijimi (a type of Korean pancake with veggies and seafood in it with some spicy sauce for dipping):

Leftover Papa John's.

Could be worse.

Could be leftover Little Caesar's

Dood, Papa John's RULES

YOU GET GARLIC SAUCE

It might not be wonderful deep dish pizza but it's awesome in its own right

That sauce is my guiltiest pleasure. On the occasion I get Papa Johns, I always use that immensely artery-clogging sauce.

Raising Cane's....After working 10 hours today (overtime this week) and sitting in traffic (wreck on the highway) I'm treating myself!

Duck breast wrapped in bacon, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Excellent glass of cabernet sauvignon. Piggys - one of the best restaurants in the region. :haz: :haz:

Not for tonight, but I bought for Monday two boneless Rib-eye steaks this morning. We haven't had steak in a few years. This will be a great treat and one I am looking forward to. :) Edited by Lorraine

No BBQ

I'm BBQ'd out on account of the fact that we had a summer home on the bay and every summer my mother would cook for a bunch of freeloader relatives who descended upon us every summer and didn't know us the rest of the year. Consequently, since it was too hot to use an oven, she BBQ'd everything.

BBQing holds no charms for me anymore. Sad to say.

That sucks,

I could never be sick of it. :D

Lorraine,

How did your steaks turn out?

I'll let you know tomorrow.

I wanted to sauté onions but I have an MD appointment at 7:00 AM and do not want to assault either the nurse or the doctor's sense of smell in case either one has an empty stomach.
