I've been playing the Prodigal Son quite a bit of late, and I have to say, I'm glad he's back!

What made you get rid of it in the first place? Beautiful guitar.

Pure greed, stupidity, and getting caught up in a gear selling frenzy. I really wanted a Mesa Boogie Mark V at the time. I was really close with the money from the other gear that I had sold, and I knew that selling the Les Paul would put me over the top.

It's great that I have both now.

We used to go down to the Carvin shop in LA and occasionally the factory in Escondido. I used to have a couple raw Carvin guitar bodies, one double neck, but I can't recall what I did with them. They really only fit Carvin necks, but they were cheap. Never got around to getting necks for them. Their guitars seem really nice but none ever wowed me. They make great PAs though.

Carvin makes great basses....okay guitars

So someone was throwing this away and I took it. It might seem thrifty, but it was free. Anyways it's a really old tube amp. It has a really nice vintage tone. the low end is absent for the most part, but still, with the VTM 60 head, it sounds beautiful.

By the way the company is called "One Hundred Amplifiers."

A free tube amp that works? Nothing wrong with that.

OMG, I can't believe I didn't catch that. I know a lot about those amps, the DRRI and the new 68 Custom line. Great amps!

I'm very happy with it and recommend it to anyone who wants the Fender tone in a NMV amp.

I use the Fender Magic 6 settings on the Vintage Channel (Amp volume 6, treble 6, bass 2, reverb 2), guitar volume 5 (which allows me pull up the Strat volume pot like a boost for leads), tone pots rolled back on the guitar. It is not a 'bedroom' guitar tone, but it sounds amazing when practicing in a band situation.

My other amp is a 1984 Peavey Bandit 65w. Everyone should own a Bandit 65w at some point.

Loud and indestructible amps.

You guys know that tone controls on Fenders are flat at 5.5 right? At least older Fender tube amps. Settings 6 and above boost while 5 and below cut. :)

So if you don't go to LA, you can't try these guitars out without actually purchasing one? Seems kind of weird.

That's been their business model for over 40 years.

I missed playing :haz:

Is that a guitar or a bludgeoning weapon? :scared:

I'm not a fan of the Warlock (or B.C. Rich in general, really) but the guitar was $150 and I bought it when I was in 9th grade. Since then I've completely gutted it and added Alnico 496R/500T pickups (Explorer stock) and added two more knobs for coil tapping. Had the new bridge installed last month.

That Warlock is bringing back some memories.

I had a B.C Rich platinum series Warlock when I was a lot younger and into doom metal.

I played it through a 200w Wasp Amp (Australian amp kinda like an old Marshall) and quad box.

That thing had ridiculous volume. Good for stadiums...not much else lol.

This one's a Bronze series, so it doesn't get much cheaper or lower end than that. The stock BSDM pickups were absolute trash, even if you were playing the type of music the Warlock is known for (metal). Since I bought it, those as mentioned before were replaced and the extra pots were added, the nut's been replaced, and the shielding's been improved. I think I bought a bad cable recently, though, cause yesterday I was picking up radio signals again

New gear porn photo, picked up a couple pedals last week, the Joyo Classic Flanger and the Donner Yellow Fall Delay. The flanger was a solid $35 and just from playing it a little bit today I already know I've made a good choice.

Looking to sell my Music Man John Petrucci 6 String. I want to build an ultimate (imho) Stratocaster.

Nice guitar. :) I'm selling my Strat too. Had two people who have wanted it and backed out. Selling kind of sucks.

Played one in GC a few months back. I liked it a lot. The only thing I didn't like was the position of the volume knob -- it's all the way down there instead of by my pinky where I like it (like on a Strat or PRS).

See, I was going to make some smart a$$ remark about why he would have bought that in the first place...

I DETEST selling gear. I've gotten rid of 3 guitars over the years. 2 of those are regretful now. I've traded drums for new kits twice. Wished i'd kept them all... :)

I've sold a few effects units over the years, and I might sell one of my Marshalls (I really have no use for it anymore), but I've had the same three guitars for the past 20+ years, and added the Tele two years ago.

Post it up on the Music Man forum at http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-guitars/ - that's where the JP gear heads hang, so is the market you're after. Kevin
