Guess I'll never be able to dig prog. Especially if Pink Floyd can't be prog. I guess Rush was dropped from the prog list too, eh?

 

Songs over 15 minutes long with named subsets and solos by everyone including the drummer icon_really_happy_guy.gif

 

Sounds like the prog metal fan list is more exclusive than the Augusta Country Club. wacko.gif

This is really funny because I have a friend who's in a power metal band, and at least 40% of the list is true for the singer (or the guitarist when it's about widdling and soloing, which he does profusely)

The problems with a lot of recent Prog Metal bands is all they do is play fast, which can be a good or bad thing, but the composition isn't as genious as earlier prog. The best prog metal band I can find is A.C.T. They are a mix of the fast and the complex.

The 1 Rule for having a good band.

 

1. Allways make sure your having fun, and if your not, you dont love music. For that you should always have fun making music!
