Cant tell ya dude, this is my first show at MSG.

I would definately say expect a good pat-down. Maybe a peek under your hat. Metal detector a slight possibility, I would think...being in NYC and all.

This will be my first Rush show, and hopefully not my last either.

quick question, does anyone know how strict security is at MSG? I would like to bring a small stereo linear pcm audio recorder(I wanna give it a try, I know it may not sound well).

Definitely metal detectors and a proper pat down...it is MSG and it is NYC afterall.

I ahd been waiting and hoping someone taped the 2007 Snakes and Arrows show...but none have materialized over the years.

If you want my opinion (ya probably dont http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif ) I'd say forget the taping unless you have some magical way of having it sound amazing. A crappy recording isn't really worth causing trouble with security http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/no.gif

I'd say just go and enjoy the show http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif Meet up with us at Stout on 33rd and have a brew! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

I'll be in my gray "Meet Me At Geddy's" shirt. I've worn it to every Rush concert since 2004 (15 or so!). My friends yelled at me for wearing another Rush shirt to the documentary screening. I told them it was a movie, not a concert, and I'd keep wearing the shirt to the concerts.

Guess I'm stuck with it now!

MSG security can be highly varied, just like a lot of other venues

I've gotten a pat down there in the past, but last summer I went to see Iron Maiden there and they didn't even look at anyone. I could have practically brought anything in there. They took the tickets and i went in. basically no security.

So...if you bring something like the recorder you might be able to get in in with no trouble, but if you get the wrong security person you might loose it. Always a gamble

Once inside, everything changes. the security is usually pretty tight at the show. i've seen them drag people out, even at rush shows.

good luck

As far as sound is concerned, of course Radio City has better sound, but if you can manage to be in the 200s or lower (the lower the better...Loge is best) you'll be pleased with the sound this arena offers.

So, you're saying that my second row, Geddy's side seat should have good sound? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

I am SO FREAKING STOKED!!

*ahem* that is all... http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/blush4.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Did you have an Idaho license plate with you?
