2011 - 04/03 - Nashville, TN

Never too early to start the meet-up discussion.

Since the Bridgestone Arena (formerly the Sommet Center, the Gaylord Entertainment Center and the Nashville Arena) is in downtown, it would be good to find a meet-up spot within walking distance. There are a few clubs and restaurants toward the east down Broadway to 2nd Avenue. I can't remember if there are some to the west toward Highway 431 and Union Station.

Wasn't the R30 opener the last time Rush performed in the Nashville area?

I'm definitely in on this one, and yes the R30 opener was the last time they played here. In 2007, Neil reported on his MySpace page that Nashville was gonna open the S&A tour, then two weeks later our shed gets closed.

The last time I was in Nashville (about this time last year), I ate at a restaurant on 2nd Avenue across from the Wild Horse. It seemed like a decent spot and could be a possibility for a meet-up. But there are others, too. We could go to a place like that or go corporate to a spot like the Hard Rock Cafe.

If we walk to the arena on Broadway, I could show everyone the approximate spot where as a kid in the early '70s I tried to sneak a peek into one of the strip clubs along that stretch. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif It was near Ernest Tubb's record store. Back in those days, at least in my young mind, the businesses on Broadway alternated between record shops, honky tonks and strip clubs.

Just for the heck of it this morning, I looked up Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and saw where they have rental area for group gatherings. How funny would it be for us to meet-up at the world famous Orchid Lounge. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I may not be able to make this show.

I'm in the midst of a personal crisis and in no position to get involved in organizing a meet-up. I hope there are loyal fans out there who can find a meet-up spot near the arena. It's so very important as Rush fans to have one before the concert. I treasure the memories and the friends I met through meet-ups.

Even if my situation is resolved by April 3, I still may not attend. Gotta take care of real-life things first.

I have two tickets to the show. If I'm not going, then someone I know will get first shot at them. If the person declines, then I'll put them up for sale here.

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I moved away from Middle Tennessee last summer, so I won't be making this show... gonna be at the Austin Show though!

For those of you meeting up let me make a recommendation "Coconut Bay Cafe" in Murfreesboro (half an hour south of Nashville) is f***ing awesome, a great place for a pre-show meetup.

Why would you meet at a bar OVER 30 minutes away prior to the show? Especially, since there are several bars / restaurants within stumbling distance of the arena?

"Chains" - Margaritaville, Hard Rock Cafe, Wild Horse Saloon, Big River Brewing Company

"Honkey Tonks" - Tootsies, Legends Corner

"BBQ Bars" - Jacks, Rippys

"Brew house" - Broadway Brewhouse, Flying Saucer

MANY excellent choices!

Your in luck. I have been organizing the Nashville pre-show party for us die-hard RUSH fans for years. This is our third annual get together, but of course it has been a while since their last trip thru Nashville! I already have an establishment and party room reserved just a few blocks away from Bridgestone (formerly Sommet) on 2nd Ave.

It will be from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. I am putting together a web page with all the details. Once it is complete, I will post the info for everyone. Contact me if you are interested in helping out.

Thank you, good night!

FYI - I need to give the establishment a head count about 12 days before the show so they can schedule the man power. If you want to send me your info now, then cancel sometime before then, that is cool. If you feel more comfortable waiting, just let me know ASAP. BTW , it is really refreshing to see consideration about commitment. If anyone has further questions, please contact us directly via the e-mail address on our web site. Hope all will be able to join us!

Does anyone know how many seats are in each floor section's aisle?

In other words, I am in seat 10.. is this middle or end of row?

Bridgestone Arena / Ticketmaster sites do not show row detail.

Thanks!
