Rush=Awesome

Last night was great. Was in Block R on Alex's side and had a great view of the stage setup and show. First set was imo great - i can understand it doesn't pander to the casual Rush fan but i found myself singing along to most songs in that set, even Faithless which sounded pretty good live. BU2B and Caravan sounded great so Clockwork Angels is shaping up well for me.

Moving Pictures was awesome. I know on recent tours, they have played most MP songs live but it is great to hear it in the album order plus The Camera Eye which i think they pulled off pretty well.

The crowd were pretty up for it and Closer To The Heart and 2112(with the traditional audience participation) proved second set highlights. Despite my earlier praise of the first set, it was obvious that TSOR, Freewill to the end of the first set were the songs the crowd truly loved.

La Villa and Working Man(my dad's fave Rush song) rounded off a great show all around for me. To me the band sounded tight all night. Geddy was on form vocally for me(no idea how he hits those notes at the end of Freewill), Alex was brilliant and was joking around occasionally. Neil was Neil - tight as ever.

I thought, overall, the show was better than the S and A Tour. Hope they play Glasgow again on the CA tour.

Great to meet FoxxiStarr as well, if ever so briefly  http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/bekloppt.gif

Hi Sarge!! Fab to meet you and Hatchet and all the others. We were looking for you guys after the gig. Going to Newcastle?

I cant even get my head around the gig last night. Was front row right in front of Lerxst. I cried when I got out of the SECC .. was a bit overwhelming. The band are as happy as Ive EVER seen them .. Glasgow Choir was loud as hell ... it was INSANE!!

Oh and can I just say ... RUSH RULE THE f***ing HEMISPHERES

ps - glad everyone enjoyed the Scottish hospitality!

God almighty, my liver, my kidneys, my head. Glasgow, you have left your mark on me again.

Wasn't that a special night? Mental. Started off nicely in the Walkabout, kinda touched the edges of the bonkers zone in The Solid Rock(SAXON!), then the SECC, ahhh, full on insanity!

Again, met the best people, Foxxistarr and her crew AND the cake, Scottishdood and his brood, including Bob(the "Buckfast Dublin from my hotel room" legend!) and Dave and Godeater!!!! Serious thanks to all the guys for taking the tickets, Andy, Dave, Luke, Graham & his mate, great to meet you all.

Thought the band were excellent, thought they played better than Dublin and we got all the pyrotechnics(Health & Safety issues in Dublin led to a truncated pyrotechnical display).

Onwards and upwards to Manchester, where I plan to take things a bit calmer. I have the liver of an old tramp, and he wants it back.

YES ! Glasgow was so damn awesome I actually enjoyed it more than Dublin.

definitely one of the best nights of my days - meeting some TRFers in solid and hanging out with the ones from TNMS too..

I was happy I met HAS and Godeater and gave him a great big bearhug outside the secc lol

My voice is totally shot to pieces right now , I hope it can recover for manchester, also my head aint right yet from all the partying the last 5 days

Sang to every song at the top of my voice and played the air instruments intensely, I was sitting in front of a family with a kid so I thought it would be a good idea to move away and go in the aisles in another block for a better view and more space and rock out

Wow I need a break for a while , the tour is only half over for me-manchester is next and I have a good seat for that one

fun times indeed

Great pre-gig only added to the excellence of the gig itself.

Tommy (an Edinburgh Jambo - makes him a doubly good guy) and his mate from Luton.

Also scared Godeater by appearing to be his stalker http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif and thrusting upon him my memoirs of my day as Alex.

Thoroughly splendid weekend.

That was you! Holy shit that was hilarious! It wasn't until the plane ride home I poured through your Viking propaganda document trying to figure out WTF that was all about! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/rofl3.gif

Sheer hilarity, and nice to meet you even if ever so briefly!

To all the rest of the TRF crew we had the enormous pleasure of hanging out with before/after and during the show, my sincerest thanks to you all for being such a vital ingredient in a wonderful night that was part of the best trip ever . Thanks from myself and the rest of my Canadian contingent Jenny & Bob. We had a blast and hope to see you all again one day soon!

Had a great time on saturday, much thanks to Foxxistarr for letting me tag along with her crew (she'll be sick of hearing me say this lol), it was great to meet everyone at the Walkabout and Solid Rock (what a mad place)....and the cake...that was a thing of beauty! I have no idea how many TRF members I actually met without realising lol, but I hope there'll be another opportunity some time soon! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/yes.gif

Hope you've come a wee bit closer to figuring it out...it's not all that straightforward to explain.

Just as a by the way, to further Rushify the tale...all the stuff was made by ourselves and you might just be able to spot that the axe handle is made of a laminate of two types of wood.

What else could it be but oak and maple? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif
