I know, some of these hardly have any connection to atheism or anti-government beliefs...but I tried to choose what I thought was the best for each album. I may have not chosen to the best example, so feel free to nominate any other song.

I chose Anthem because it clearly states that you must live for yourself and not let anything get in your way, which can be god or government.

I chose No One At The Bridge because it questions the guiding hand of fate.

I chose The Temples of Syrinx because it's something of a satire on government.

I chose A Farewell To Kings because it questions governments and history.

I chose The Trees because it is a satire on government.

I chose Freewill because it questions god.

I chose Tom Sawyer because it is about a rebel who does not rent his mind to god or government.

I chose The Weapon because of its statement about He who knows horrors worse than your hell.

I chose Between The Wheels because it also questions governmnet, i.e. "down to brother can you spare..."

I chose Territories because it is about governments and their citizens fighting each other.

I chose High Water because it talks about our evolution from water, therefore nullifying the Adam and Eve theory. (At least I think so)

I chose Anagram because of the partial anagram "the saint is turning to sin."

I chose Ghost Of A Chance because he clearly states he doesn't believe in the guiding hand of fate.

I chose Cut To The Chase because it is similar to Anthem in context.

I chose Totem because it is something of a satire on religion (not god, religion).

I chose Sweet Miracle because it nullifies what happened in the bible.

I chose Faithless and BU2B for very obvious reasons.

The Trees sums up the folly of socialism better than I've heard anywhere else, including any political treatise I've read.

Just a friendly warning: If the discussion gets too political and/or religious in here, this thread will be moved to Sense O'Clock News. Try and keep it more about the songs and less about touting or arguing your personal beliefs -- that's what SOCN is for. cool.gif

Sorry...this is a tough thread to draw the line

The Fountain Of Lamneth? I don't think it's anti-government or anti-god, I just think it's an epic analogy of a man's life.

But if I had to choose one, It would be either Tom Sawyer or Freewill. Aside from the obvious badassery contained within the music, the lyrics make me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. biggrin.gif

I would vote for the Anarchist, but I guess not released at the time, so the vote went to territories
