The Green Bay Packers Thread

I disagree. He is so evasive and turns nothing into something on a regular basis. That fumble that turned into a forward pass - no one else could do that. He is totally trapped at times and I am certain he is going down and he escapes and makes a completed throw. Unreal. And yes the other Aaron was on fire also.

He's great no doubt and he did some good Aaron stuff in the game but he holds onto the ball too long. He needs to get rid of that thing Brady style. Thread the needle more. He has insane accuracy. I think he's so afraid of throwing INTs it's made him tentative in the pocket. Too often his solution is to roll out.

Rodgers isn't "afraid" of throwing interceptions. He's just a perfectionist when it comes to passing the ball. He won't throw it where it can be picked.

Rodgers does indeed hold the ball too long, and that is because for the past several years, he, his head coach and O-coordinator have been all about going for the deep ball. My fellow Packer fans and I have been screaming for more dump off and short over-the-middle routes, but they rarely happen (until this year). The WR's are always going downfield, even when it's 2nd and short, 3rd and short. In the early 2010's, they did run shorter routes, but ever since 2014, the scheme has been to GO DEEP.

The Green Bay Packers' 2019 Season: Week 6

Packers 23

Lions 22

Yet ANOTHER insane, pull your hair out of your head, Twilight Zone game!! I need a good, stiff drink!! :o :o :o

After 13 years, Packer kicker Mason Crosby got his first Lambeau Leap after winning this bizarre, controversial game on the last play.

The Packers shot themselves so many times, they were full of holes! Injuries, dropped passes, turnovers.....yet when the game was over, the Packers scratched out the win. They didn't quit, and they needed all 60 minutes to beat a very good Lions team.

Surprise Star of the Game: Wide receiver Allan Lazard, who was cut in August, but signed to the practice squad. The 6' 5" WR may have a bright future with the Packers, now that he's shown what he can do!

He is definitely afraid of throwing INTs and it limits his effectiveness. Although it's impossible to prove, I'm thinking at least 1 more SB win if he threw to guys earlier. (Most of the fault for that is Capers' dismal playoffs defenses though.) And not holding onto the ball as long as he does he's likely not getting as seriously hurt as he has been in recent years. Rodgers is the polar opposite of Favre who could be incredibly reckless throwing the ball but he could use a little bit of that gunslinger approach sometimes.

Another thing I hate that he does (or at least was doing for quite awhile) is trying to catch the opposing defense with 12 men on the field. Dude, that just kills the offensive rhythm.

Aaron's great but you can't place all the pressure on one guy's shoulders. I'm glad this new coach seems to be emphasizing the run.

There is some emphasis on the running game, but after watching every game this year, I don't see much change from last year. Some, but not a lot. The fullback is rarely blocking for the RB's. It's almost always one RB in the backfield. Much was made about the new FB, Danny Vitale, in the pre-season, but they have yet to have him be a true fullback.

Packer fans are well aware that Rodgers has had to "do it all" in past years. This year gives us all much hope that the times are a-changin'!

The Green Bay Packers' 2019 Season: Week 7

Packers 158.3

Raiders 24

When a great player throws a perfect game, you just sit back and marvel at him and his accomplishment. Well, you also marvel at the great plays that his teammates made to help him, but you know what I mean....

Aaron Rodgers and his "work in progress" offense laid waste to the Raiders' defense, overshadowing QB David Carr and his very good performance. Rodgers' receivers were on a mission to catch every ball. Add to that some HUGE stops and takeaways by the defense, and the Raiders were no match for the Home Team.

:haz: :haz: :haz:

The Green Bay Packers' 2019 Season: Week 8

Packers 31

Chiefs 24

Packer running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams are stating once again how they take a back seat to no one! They just keep making plays, and they keep making Aaron Rodgers look good! In a classic slugfest in the always hostile Arrowhead Stadium, the Packers earned a hard-fought win against the very talented Chiefs.

The last drive - starting from their 2-yard line - the Packers exerted their will on the Chiefs' defense and marched down the field, running out the clock.

IMPRESSIVE.

A great game. The turning point was when KC's defense withstood that incredible 3rd quarter GB drive, holding the Pack to a field goal, only to have the KC offense quickly cough the ball up. The defense was tired at that point...but they almost made the stop a second time. That final TD throw by Rodgers, on his heels, was amazing.

Great win for Green Bay. Congrat's!

That was the equivalent of a Hail Mary. Desperation pass, with Jamaal Williams making an incredible play on the ball. I would say that most times, that play fails.

Football is a crazy game....

Packers 20

Redskins 15

Aaron Jones is the best player on the Packer roster. 192 total yards and a TD today.

They should get him the ball more, as their game plan of throwing deep on almost every single play STINKS.

Currently the #2 seed. :o

If they can win out and the SF Ninnies lose two more it's, #1 baby! SF still has the Rams and the Saints to play so it's possible.

The Rams and the Seahawks (oh, and the Falcons, but, well, you know . . . ). That SF/Seattle game might be for all the #1 seed marbles? Winner gets the division and the loser gets a trip to Dallas to practice their playoff form?

Green Bay, New Orleans, SF, Seattle is a heck of a competitive final four. Divisional round should be fun.
